That's why i choose GGG

It was talked about ages ago.
An opposite sex for each of the current classes would involve having to double all the 3D item art of the items because of the way they fit and each class model is animated differently (Including the items). This alone was enough to say it was very unlikely to happen.

AFAICR

Not all items, there is no need to change weapons for example, only body equipment like armor or helmet. And its not like creating those body armors from zero, you have to alter their size and shape a bit.

For example, you have a male body armor and you want to make it female. Female body is usually a bit smaller, so you have to scale that armor model a bit down (like 5 seconds of work) and then move some vertices/faces of the 3d model around to fit breasts and adjust slimmer waist, wider ass. yeah, millions of dollars of work.

And not to be glib, but as with any business it boils down to ROI--is it worth GGG's time (read: money) to do so when perhaps balancing, adding features/content or even stuff for the store take priority. So if not enough people are clamoring for something like this, GGG may never have the impetus to add the feature.

HOWEVER, if GGG can make money off adding the alternate gender for each class, they could just make it a store feature: say 500-1000 points, roughly $50-$100 per added gender.

If the user base interested in buying one new gender each, and that population was roughly 250,000 customers, then potentially $12,500,000 could be made. These are all just theoretical numbers but the financial viability does seem feasible. Even at a scant $20 for a new gendered class, that's $5,000,000. Not bad.

Do you mean this game that is played by literally 4 people by average? Or Battlerite that is struggling to survive and is losing players all the time (this one is sad, this game deserves to be successful so much :((()
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.

Nah.. maybe now but i remember times where aroun 10 of my real life friends played the BC with me. And some pvp seasons has over 300k participants. It's not about the numbers anyway, the gender change skin was working there and gamemakers can earn some money from it without changing any balance in game - just like GGG does with PoE. So it's perfect suitable here.

And i agree with people - if we don't make enough "noise" about it they won't make that change in PoE. They need to have market for this product before puting some effort to it. Which in my opinion is not that huge. You can use Shade model as male Witcher for example ect.

seems like a lot of work and money to piss away for no real impact on game-play

not sure if the return on investment is really there
I dont see any any key!

That's the point it has only cosmetic inpact on game, so it's perfect as a shop item.

I don't suppose you'd care to qualify that statement?

You know, instead of just gender-flipping the existing classes, they should make them more their own thing, while starting at the same position as the "patron" class, they get their own set of Ascendancies for them that have a bit different take on what the others are.

Why? Would they fill some gameplay niche that has not been otherwise filled? Is there an actual reason that a female Shadow would get a different Assassin class than the male one?

If you go through all the work, you can at least make it impact the game past petty cosmetics.

Do ... do cosmetics not have an impact on gameplay? That's a funny assertion to make about a largely aesthetic medium. Hell, it's a funny assertion to make on the forum for a game that makes an overwhelming proportion of its money selling cosmetic enhancements for in-game characters, and the rest of its money selling the opportunity to make a contribution to the game's aesthetics. Are folks really saying the only parts of the game they care about are math and fast-twitch reflexes?

And to be clear, I don't know that I'd be interested in such an MTX given that the look (including the gender) of the classes becomes largely irrelevant after act 4, when your character's VO stops, their personality suddenly disappears, and all unique character responses vanish. But by the same token, it's kind of grating that there's not a gender choice from the start.

WoW got updated character models in the pre-patch of WoD, which means approx 10 years after the vanilla release.
If GGG still exists with full manpower in 4 years we may see slight updates in animations, skin details, and as a bonus overhauled armour + weapon sets.

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
Did we just assume the character's genders?
