Yoke of Suffering - Ailment duration decrease??
Hello all
i've been a lurker for some while, but i cant simple find any information about this ![]() In path of building i've been toying around with som DOT build, but it doesnt seem to increase my damage. How i "thought" it worked: Decreases duration so that the base DOT have to be dealt faster. - This doesnt seem to be applied in PoB.. is that because im misunderstanding the calculations or does PoB not support this kind of damage increase? How it "might" work: Decreasing Duration ailment, also decreases the damage dealt. - Which means you have to attack faster to with hold the DOT. I hope some of you can help me with this ;-) - BenAtic - Last edited by BenAtic123#3363 on Feb 14, 2018, 8:52:55 AM Last bumped on Feb 14, 2018, 10:46:45 AM

The "30% reduced Duration of Ailments on Enemies" only decreases the duration of ailments. It does not affect the amount of damage dealt per second by the ailment in any way. Thus if you would otherwise inflict an Ignite that deals 100 damage per second for 10 seconds, it will now deal 100 damage per second for 7 seconds.
The "Enemies take 5% increased Damage for each type of Ailment you have inflicted on them" modifier does apply to damage dealt by ailments. To see the effect in PoB you will have to check "enemy is affected by X" in the Calcs panel. Also note that ailments are specifically Bleed, Poison, Ignite, Chill, Freeze, and Shock. Anything else is not an Ailment. There are sources of damage over time that are not ailments - those won't be affected by the first modifier. |

So its kind of a "Hidden" increased DOT since it doesnt registre anywhere other than on the mob it self when its triggered but the ailment?

" Sorry, I am not entirely sure which of the modifiers you are talking about or what is the question. Could you rephrase? |

" yes but its probably a dps drop for most DoT builds unless you have substantial duration increases from gear/skill tree, its more of a boost to tri-element builds that apply weak chill/ignite/shocks to targets for some free dps. bleed and poison especially are reliant on their duration for their damage so it isn't as useful for them. what im theory crafting around with is:
Blasphemer's Grasp - Yoke Into Faster burning damage. For a fast ignite build. Other thing is blasphemer's is not calculated as increase (what i can see) |

For builds like your typical EK poacher this amulet is basically a 20% more damage multiplier, which is quite good.
Thats pretty much what the build is used for, not for poison builds to be honest. |

" Good luck I hope it works out for you but i've not managed to make an ignite build thats even close to usable since they changed DoTs |

" I played around with PoB for a while, and it does not seem that the "per Elder item equipped" modifiers are accounted for in the program. I have reported it to the creator. The modifiers should work properly in-game though. If you really want to calculate the exact values in PoB, you can edit the item and replace the "per Elder item" modifier simply by "X% increased Damage with Ailments" where X is the appropriate value. Yoke of suffering only reduces the duration without giving a damage boost, which is intended. What you want is "Ignited enemies burn x% faster".
Items that have this mod: The Goddess Scorned (though probably not really useful in your case) Dyadian Dawn (only for attacks) Emberwake makes enemies burn SLOWER, but allows an additional ignite I wonder if this could work with Hopeshredder, Burning arrow and Three dragons... at the very least it seems worth testing. I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
