How To Save PvP! MOBA, PUBG Modes!

There is no such thing as PUBG mode. Its Battle Royale.
I know people only get to know things if they get super popular, but please, do some background research. :(

And you'd be wrong to assume that I wasn't aware of Battle Royale...
The smart move is to do nothing. PvP isn't worth saving. I'm pretty sure the only reason they ever update the PvP modifiers is to keep HoG somewhat beatable for cheese builds.

Well, uh, you actually have to. PoE was never build with PvP in mind and for it to work GGG would need a separate development team to balance it properly. All the time, with every new patch. There is too little interest in PvP to make it worth it, especially given that OBJECTIVELY BAD (lmao) MOBAs are around and they do that thing far better. Mainly because they are designed for that from the very start.
If I want to play some PvP, I'll go for Battlerite any day over PoE, sorry.

MOBAs are god awful and boring; Dota and LoL are the McDonald’s of gaming. And as for needing a separate team for pvp adjustments, I don’t actually know how difficult it is to add a TValue to the skills we’ve told them about, but I can’t imagine it’d take more than a couple hours at most. What really needs to be done from the start is for GGG to maybe keep pvp in mind with all the new shit they add. While some of it is good, it’s usually just something new and broken (Volatile Dead, Scorching Ray). The cycle is all too common; fix broken shit we complain about after a few months, add something else that’s completely broken and unfair. If they could get the fundamentals down, then PoE pvp would be fun again, especially considering the limitless character possibilities. You can play Battlerite for pvp all you want, but some of us don’t want to play something else for pvp.

PvP does need some different mode beyond CTF; too many unkillable tank builds and Bear Trappers in that mode. If anything, I’d like to see a map mod for it, map can be invaded by up to a few players, players damage goes by pvp damage scaling, which we’ll pretend was done properly in this scenario.

And pvp is definitely wirth saving, since it could be great place to test out builds and approaches game from a different angle. Balancing PoE around pvp to a degree could possibly even prevent cheese builds in the first place.

PvP in this game cannot be saved. Any way of 'saving' it means nerfing the build variety that PoE thrives on.

Just let it go. Remove the Hall of Retards from the Atlas. PoE is an excellent PvE game, it doesn't need PvP. At all.

Great thinking on your part.

I’m still going to bombard GGG with requests for TValues and the like. It’ll get me somewhere eventually. Think of it like DoT they can’t flask away ;) I will win.

Yeah, those need to be fixed, poet's pen damage could have a -75% less damage multiplier for PvP, it would still be OP LOL;; Also max block is just a pain... PF though, you can't touch an ascendancy because of PvP =/ PvE rules here.

There’s a lot of people who use Pathfinder in pve because she is alarmingly powerful when given the typical overpowered flasks. She’s got ailment immunity, global pen, crazy flask synergies, all that shit. Combine all that with items that grant buffs on flask use, she’s out of this world. That’s why taking her down a few pegs (not making her worthless, mind you) could benefit not just pvp, but pve as well. She’s a bit too much the answer to all problems.

Max block and regen are definitely mitigated to a degree with the BCR gem, BCR mods on weapons, and frost bomb, but there are many builds that these things can’t always fix. That’s where DOT comes in. If GGG made some sort of diminishing returns on regen, that’s one problem down, then buff the BCR gem a tad, bam. Or just reword Aegis Aurora’s main mod to make the ES regain on block work over time, so slower-hitting builds still have a chance.

As for Poet’s Pen, it’s still too new to see it at its worst beyond the usual Volatile Dead fuckery. The skill itself needs a TValue.

No no no no. You guys don't understand at all. It's impossible to balance everything in PvE for PvP. Therefore, you simply do not replicate everything that exists within PvE into a MOBA or PUBG game mode! Perhaps Ascendancies themselves don't belong at all. What matters most in implementing this FIX for PvP is that there is a faithful MOBA/PUBG mode. Which means that some unique items would make it in, and others wouldn't. Don't you know that in MOBA or PUBG you start off without any items or skill points? Do the same in PvP here. Then choose carefully which uniques from the game will be made available during game play. Obviously Poet's Pen would never make it in.
