I don't understand why you want nerfs when there's a whole bunch of endgame content you haven't even cleared yet.

So they belittle and disqualify every comment or opinion.

Stygian will not be able to be Shaper/Elder. This, on its own, is a choice you have to make regarding your belt.

I mean, you can be mad that your mirror tier item isn't the best thing in the game, but this is also GGG's intention - to give mirror tier crafters another mountain to climb. It is like that for some time now. And people (of course) instead of praising GGG for finding ways other than simply giving items bigger and bigger numbers (while trying that too, but not too excessively), they complain. And complain.

And complain. Because GGG adds new content to the game to play with. Oh my god, GGG, please, no!!! Stop adding thingssssssssssssss, I alreaddyyy have mirror tier geeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr ;_______((((

It's a good compromise. Stygian vises won't drop while levelling so we will use other belts, and we can enjoy this good content (abysses, abyssal depths, abyss uniques and jewels) during endgame. They'll drop in depths only so won't be as common as they're in league, it seems fine to me.

when they first posted the rpeview of stygian belts all manner of people isntantly said thats an op belt, that basically invalidates almost all other belts for almost all possible builds, and thats pretty much what happened.


/with the changes as they stand now, you wont be able to get anywhere near as much es on a styg as u can on a shaper crystal belt, not even close. You wont be able to get anywhere near as much life as an elder leather belt. For a physical based attack build you will be able to get more life AND more damage on an elder rustic sash than u can from a styg belt.

It will however leave probably 90% of players using or wanting to use the styg belts, certainly ppl who trade and have options but are not in the league of crafting super gg belts, all those guys are gonna be styg.


Thats not ideal. But to play devils avocado for a moment, what state were belts in before the styg? You got leather belts, rustic sash... ok for es builds, which are sort of in the shitter, you got crystals. but rly for 99% of people its leather or rustic right? Were essentially already living in a 2 belt world for the vast majority of players who get to be picky about their base type.

If you were a phys scaler there was 1 belt for you, the rustic. If you wernt there was 1 belt, the leather. Is it really a big change? I think alone the styg sort of reduce variety, bit its not by much, and when we add the styg and the elder/shaper thing together honestly, as a package, did we lose anything? We might have even come out with a net gain on how interesting belts are?

There will be a lot of OP Stygian Belts in standard. But as we all know, standard is not the center of balance; leagues are. And with the changes to Abysses, and how they are being added to the core game, I welcome Stygian Belts. Less Abysses = less Stygian Belts = less jewels. Less jewels = less "OP" ones. A very good rolles Rustic Sash can still compete against a Stygian Belt in a lot of cases. And with the removal of Shaper/Elder Stygian Belts? Perfect.

Disagree with this, they all had their perks, str belt was good if you were getting your str requirement from your belt (80+ on one slot is pretty rocking) rustic for phys, leather for hardcore, stun for stunnertons, crystal for the last 2 people playing ES.

In this League Stigian Belt + Jewell was a nice alternative to Crystal Belt in terms of gathering maximum possible ES. A lot easier to find, craft and upgrade when you compare to average crystal belt with simmilar es+res statistics.
I agree that limiting stygian belt drop in Standards is not a bad thing - standard is a unique ecosystem full of legacy items, powerful items from temporal leagues and - what is most important - has no impact on future event leagues environment. Of course it all depends on behaviour of a typical PoE player: is he all-event oriented, or maybe prefers Standard as main way of experiencing PoE with a little bit of temporal leagues? From a perspective of "80% League / 5% Standard / 15% Races" player I like the fact that Standard implementation of Stygian Belts can't roll Shaper/Elder mods AND are not corrupted (like breach rings for example).

Not that all care for std but ... stygian elder shaped will be the go-to mirror option there, no other belts will have a chance.. fortunately there were quite a few of them dropping in abyss so there will be tons of options to mirror (but not enough to craft your own unless you want to pay 100-200 ex for just the base)

since the announcement elder stygs specifically are selling at 10-20ex per ilvl 76-80 and 40-50ex per 81+

For those complaining about a lack of chase items for monstrous profit... here u go.... u got 2+ weeks to farm elder and shaper zones for an item worth as much as bubonic 2s abyssal
