Orb of Annulment drop rate

Say you want to make a 'good' weapon, so you try to roll 'tyrannical' on it. After using 2000 transmutation orbs, you finally get it, but the second mod is not usable. You then have a 50% chance of saving using another 2000 transmutation orbs if you use an annulment.

The is the 'cheap' example.

But at the end of that, you still only have a weapon that's good in potential, not one that's actually good for hitting things with. Turning it into an actually good weapon will cost some some serious currency beyond the 2k transmutes and 1 annul, depending on just how good you want to make it.

I challenge you to find a single example where you start off with an item of some value, use a combination of annuls and other currencies to add value to that item, and the added value is not already proportional to the value of the other currencies, annuls excluded.

Those things still drop? Could have fooled me. Found zero in abyss.

Play Nice and Show Some Class www.theamazonbasin.com
Got 2 in Abyss in 1 in Bestiary (from an Arcanist box).
So yeah they still drop

Given they're priced around 13-14C on poe.trade, I'd say the drop rate is about right.
Most players who find one will never use it...

it's strange that annuls were this cheap. they were probably 10 times as rare as exalts. much like the eternal orb used to be and should have been much more expensive than the exalted orb.

looted a single orb of annulment during the entire 3 month abyss league. crazy rare.
i did put it to good use. removed some crap from this and then exalted one of the resists

i believe you mean alteration not transmutation orbs. so you save alot more than that if successful :)

Which just goes to show that the drop rate is unreasonably low, because even so they're just not worth that much.
From my experience it`s about 1 Annul every 4 Exalts.

But this league we have harbinger so they are farmable

Except RNG will fuck that right up.

Last league i ended up with 4 annul and come the last few days of the league i manage to get my first exalt drop.

Since bestiary started i've been playing on standard, where i've had 2 exalt within 3 hours of each other and no annul.

Currency isn't designed to be useable the way you describe it to be @dharall because its not restricted to what level items you can use it on. gated for exclusive use by elite, well-heeled crafters.
