Hinekora Death´s Fury Totem interaction

Hi there :D

I copied the tactical nuke build that has been shown in the build of the week series. Just for fun because I never played a totem build before because I would rely totally on liferegen and had no leech available. That is why i took this build.

Short reminder: Quill Rain + Ranged attack totem + Eye of Innocence + Empires Grasp for reverse knockback, ignite enemies for the procc of the amulet so enemies get sucked into the totems and get killed. Damage comes from the permanently proccing "fire nova" caused by the amulet and Tukohama, War´s Herald. Since it is 15% totemlife as fire damage I should get leech from Hinekora Death´s Fury.

And here is the problem.

Even in the video it is said, that Hinekora, Death´s Fury is overall very usefull for this build, since you penetrate fire res and my totems leech life with their explosions for them and the player.

But the only way for me right now is using flasks and rely on liferegen, because even in large packs with much aoe overlapping and killing multiple mobs at once... nothing happens. Literally nothing. I am sitting on like 11% lifereg right now and hoped to have no problems with the leech.

It even does look like the totems won´t get any leech as well. When they get damaged in the beginning they should technically regain some life, but it stays where it is until i replace them.

I know it is a pretty niche build but would still be nice if you would look at this problem.

I also tried to shock with the explosion, since Three Dragons makes fire damage shock instead of igniting.

I have a 4% chance to do so, but with three Barrage Totems it should at least procc sometimes on bosses right?

I made a monster life and bosslife ghetto map and there was no shocking on argus. But argus from the lab can´t be shocked so i tried dunes with the same idea... no shocking... like every other boss as well and it takes a little bit of time to kill with this build.

Okay, I think either one of the two of us is very confused about how these mechanics work. Could you post a link to the guide you're following? I wasn't able to find it.

By "the explosion", do you mean specifically this:

"Totems Reflect 15% of their maximum Life as Fire Damage to nearby Enemies when Hit"

?

I don't see how Eye of Innocence would interact with this at all.

Further, this damage is specifically reflected damage. Thus it is not affected by any of your damage modifiers, and also can not trigger any on-hit effects - this includes resist penetration, leech, or causing status ailments.

Last, you currently have Ramako, not Hinekora allocated. Did you switch between the two? Maybe not related to your problem, but the "cannot be ignited" stat from Ramako prevents the bonuses "while ignited" bonuses from your amulet from working, since you never get ignited.

Yes i switched to Ramako because Hinekora did nothing for me.

Totem ignites enemies, attack ignites and eye of innocence proccs, totem gets hit with fire damage but since it is immune to fire damage it takes 0 damage.
