Never ever play a shit game called Destiny 2.

You actually gave them money after the Destiny release debacle? Silly grill.

Anthem's promotional video was such an asspull though. You think it's voice acting in the game and it turns out to be players very unrealistically voice-chatting. The lack of four letter words and griping about nerfs and shitty drops is a big tell. I'm...cautiously interested in Anthem.

I think I may be the only person that was okay with the trailer. It started out seeming like a cutscene, then pretty obviously translated to the characters portraying cheesy role players. It’s campy AF, and I’m fine with that. I do not understand the mass outrage about it at all. Do people give themselves so little credit as to think the trailer was trying to pull one over on them?

Still, I tend to err on the side of disappointment—so few games live up to their expectations, (likely) opting to replace their grand ideas with half baked substitutes to push an early release. Cautiously interested is a good way to put it.

I found it deeply amusing that they'd bother to go to such lengths to portray such a fallacious experience. It spoke of either a delusion that someone out there actually plays a game like that online, OR a desire to deceive. Here's the thing you might have missed: they weren't going for cheesy or campy. That's just an easy out for you to accept it. Unless the definition of 'cheesy' has changed over time, in which case you might as well call all RP cheesy. Which is fine, but if so, drop the 'cheesy'. There was nothing hammy or cheesy about that voice-acting. It transitioned from not-bad cut-scene style to utterly unbelievable real players interacting on an online game. There was *nothing* real about it and everyone knew it. It was an expensive-as-hell faux pas on Bioware/EA's behalf.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHo04qOae0Q Pretty much the perfect response.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyhupnFXgGI Also fun, if a bit more abrasive.

And let's not forget it IS an EA title. After SWBF2 revealed their intense greed, they need a win. Let's not help them with that.

If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Warframe was garbage. I was bored with the game after only 10hrs. While I didn't really play it long enough to get a 100% accurate assessment of the game, it seemed more grindy than PoE is. It was grindy to the point where the game was just a major let down. Another coulda, shoulda, woulda been good "IF" kinda games.

Or, there’s a third, less absurd explanation—it was an advertisement, and they had to script the thing. Concept translated poorly to execution.

Different team. I remain hopeful that Bioware is still capable of making a good game. Although it is a departure for their usual, so it’s possible EA steals the pants on this one.

All advertisement is a desire to deceive. This one just got caught out. Hard. QED.

Well, there certainly is more farmin' in Warfarm. Targeted farming makes it much more bearable though if you ask me, outside of like Arcanes 'n shit (which you can trade for). Unlike PoE, I can actually search for the things I want, as opposed to finding any ol' crap and liquidating that, to then trade for almost every piece of gear I want. In a decent week's time I've built a weapon a day and two Warframes. Got that Condition Overload to drop, even, which was a nice bonus. Corinth is a real sweet gun by the way that airburst is rad. Mine also deals Rad damage because I was shootin' Grineer. That's just coincidence. Still a rad gun.

But to each their own :) I think it's good, I'm having a good time.

I've been thinking about starting a new account to get a sense of the modern progression (and I want access to the other syndicates without constant trade, lol). Probably drag in another friend of mine, see if he likes it as well; tends to enjoy a decent grind and good shootmans.
Very used to just having 300000 ferrite et al and a jacked-up Nekros with great Slash weapons, often coasting on stuff from the past to get me what I want. Curious about the game without that stash to feast upon :P Some day!

Destiny 2 is following Destiny 1's footsteps: start out as a fine shooter but not a great game otherwise, then get patched and expanded upon to be a decent game. Pretty fascinating to observe, doesn't happen too often that a big, full-release game gets so heavily worked upon post release.

Start a new account! One of us, one of us...

Me and mine agree one of the things WF does really well is it can make 'chase' materials feel awesome when you get to the next planet and they're suddenly everywhere. We still have to check ourselves when we find Morphics, which were incredibly rare two planets ago...now it's about control modules and argon crystals. The key to this excitement is the game makes clear that each step opens up a bunch of new weapons, weapons that seem out of reach until they're in your build queue. It's brilliant.
