Worth trying to 6S and 6L this? :)

I don't think I'm ever gonna amass enough Exalteds to ever afford a Lioneye's Glare, so I'm thinking of trying to 6S and 6L this bow. I've got a backup bow I can use in the 200+ damage range, 5L as well but this ones just that much better :)

I'm prepared to spend a bit if you guys think it's worth it. Got like 15 Exalteds worth of currency, turning them into Fusings and Jeweller's shouldn't be that hard.

What do you guys think? :) Try my luck, or get a faster better bow? Just as a side note, with this bow speed I'm just about mana positive. Any faster and I'm using more than I can leech (6% mana leech from gear and Passives, 20% Mana Leech gem).

Item Level 66. Next step up would be iLvl 73 bows and/or Lioneye's Glare. Physical bow ranger :)

Might not be worth it.

Nothing, except the very best items, are worth tryin to 6L. The chance is so small that you would be infinitely better off just trying to buy a 6L item. Much less trying to 6s, 6l, and socket color. Its a waste of money on that bow unless you got incredibly lucky

It's incredibly hard to find something with higher damage than my bow though ): I'm thinking of slotting in something like a quality Mana Leech (currently linked to my Frenzy gem). If this is not worth 6S and 6Linking, it practically means I probably won't find an upgrade till Lioneye's or a good ilvl73 bow?

Or would going for a faster but lower damage 6L be better?

It's not worth it in my opinion. I mean sure, it's pretty powerful but since you already have a powerful 5L item, ruining it and wasting currency might not be worth it; even if you succeed. And from what I've seen, the Jeweler's Orbs might be rigged with a palindromic pattern so you'd need A LOT of them so make a 6S and then you'd need even more Fusing Orbs to make that into a 6L.

I'm guessing that it would still be cheaper than buying a 6L Lioneye's Glare? I see that going for upwards of 40 Exalts and I'm like WTF lol.

So final verdict not worth it? I can spend about 6 Exalts worth of currency probably to try to make it happen, 10 for emergency impulse purchases xD

You already have a solid piece of equipment so just let it be for now until you can afford using up Jeweler and Fusing Orbs in large quantities or until you can amass more Exalted Orbs to trade with. Basically, you could get a downgrade if your modification fails, that's what I'm saying so you should play it safe for now.

Trying to 6s and 6l that bow is pretty much a surefire way to force yourself to ragequit PoE. Don't. Just don't.

I'm pretty sure you'd have better odds playing the lottery and hoping for the big price.

allready found a second 6S citadel bow. citadel bos sucks, its too slow. unless it has 6s i would not waste any orbs on them.

do some maps, get a level 68 bow or something :D

A 68 bow would make no difference cos it can only roll a max of 149%, just like my bow. The next tier would be ilvl73.

Like I said above, the speed of my bow right now is just perfect for me to remain Mana positive (never reaching 0 if there are mobs to leech from). Any faster and I'm using Mana faster than I can leech. And my bow roll is a quite a bit better than yours sorry other than you having 6S ^^
