It is time you removed Xsolla as a third party merchant for payments.

Frankly speaking, they are unsafe. That is an understatement. A bit of Google will tell you everything, I'm not sure why GGG has to force everyone through Xsolla nowadays. Xsolla is on most banks' black list.

Here's a bit of information from General Discussion. GGG is bleeding profits with Xsolla on board.

Is Xsolla safe ?

xsolla is a approved payment handler for many big gaming companies. when it comes to banks having problems with xsolla it's mostly american banks.

personally, i only had problems cause xsolla is requesting you to have a cc which is "verified by visa" which was a 2 days deal to get. it's supposed to make internet banking with your cc safer and a defacto standard but yeah...

if you advise your bank to give money to xsolla it's a normal deal like you do it everyday when you pay over the internet because companies have all sorts of payment handlers which get your data.

i think it's much more unsafe to get a third payment handler like paypal between your bank and xsolla cause ... well, they want to earn money too don't they? but that's a personal preference.

you have to read reddit to learn about the latest progress on ggg's efforts to provie more payment options, if you're lucky they will announce it to their supporters here if they succeeded.

I have a personal experience with them. Also, they insisted a pre-approval from my Paypal before I can buy packs from GGG. I denied them this, and now I can't buy packs any more.

Yup, that's Xsolla for you. Shining paragon of payment safety and virtues.

The real question is, why do I have to go through another third party for something Paypal was doing perfectly fine?

if i were xsolla i also would require safety of payment guarantees from pure internet payment services like paypal (imho they bought themselves the status of a real bank in luxemburgh some years ago but otherwise they're just a money transfer agency).

i had massive problems with paypal in the past with them just not sending money to other companies and me having no rights to force them to fulfill their art of the contract.

just mail ggg support so they clear things up with xsolla.

nope, xsolla (ggg's bank) and your bank are the main actors in this case and paypal ist just a payment provider in the middle who wants something of the cake.

things would be different if ggg used paypal as their payment provider, the thing is they obviously can't be trusted and don't offer the variety of worldwide payment options xsolla provides.

----

i don't think ggg will replace xsolla as companies usually do longterm contracts with their payment providers to get better conditions. cancellation of these contracts are expensive.

all ggg can (will) do is look for another payment provider for those who use paranoid banks which have problems with xsolla.

'paranoid' is wrong word here. the same banks are not paranoid about other money transfer companies - there is a story behind that and it is not a pretty story

GGG wont do a thing however. they have brokered this deal, it took some time to agree everything and there are most probably heft fines for GGG if they somehow wanted to break free (ie. introduce ALTERNATIVE). so they will do all the sweet talk but nothing of substance will happen.

you can a) cope with it b) take your money elsewhere. if more people actualy do the 'b' option - then maybe something will happen

right now people moan and whine - yet they buy pack after pack. so why change a thing?

Xsolla is literally not GGG's bank. Xsolla serves as a third party PCI compliant vendor to secure payment information. Which is ironic, because that is what they are lapsing in.
+1

I vented with my own experience here and here.

I would be "paranoid" as a bank when receiving god knows how many claims from my customers with unknown charges from Xsolla after using them once to purchase something online, wouldn't you?

xsolla is ggg's contract partner now instead of "stripe", doesn't matter if ggg has other bank accounts at the bank of nz or similar as ggg only accepts transfers on xsolla now.

unless you only got a paypal account, they're third (fifth) party.

so, whatever ... do you have any proof that they're unable to provide secure payment options? did they have security breaches?

all i find is that they're somehow connected to russia (well, i would trust a russian bank more than an american bank) and they're too secure for some people (2 factor auth). and paypal doesn't work with it flawlessly (not wondering as they're direct competitors).
