Summon Spectre: A point to summoning Blue/Yellow mobs?

While I've heard that using Summon Spectre on mobs will not grant that mob all of the special bonuses it had while alive, and this is quite obviously true for mobs with auras, I was led to believe that using SS on them would grant them the beefier life and damage that blue/yellow versions of the same monster usually have. Is this true or untrue? Another way of asking my question is this: Is there a point to using SS on blue/yellow mobs, or might I just as well indescriminately resurrect the base white monster type I am interested in?

Thank you

A spectre is not the same monster who's corpse you use to summon it. It is a new monster of the same type, and always of normal rarity.
Well, sometimes you need the monster type regardless of what rarity it is. So in that sense, you'd want to Spectre the blue/yellow version.

I believe the skill gem you're really after is Dominating Blow, which does work on Yellow & Blue mobs - it can be fun but has a really short duration :(

Prevent us from making zombies out of golems, ghosts, etc....

Mark can you work on a Keystone for spectres ? To allows us to summon any rarity (excluding bosses) and can only have 1 Spectre.

Unless you are already working on something that you are not telling us :D

I'd rather some way to store spectres you summoned before. It's a real buzzkill to have to zone in somewhere you aren't interested in farming just to get a creature you want as a spectre and have to head back every time they die.
hehe, but this is basically the core-feature of spectres, you can summon the types you are just fighting against.

Getting "rare spectres" would be too powerful, even more with some sort of "storage".

Not if you reduced the spectre count. So that 1 seems very unique and powerful. That's the point. But if it dies you need to kill another rare ... it's not common to get rares to summon so the keystone should work swell.

Give or take any other balances the keystone needs... To act like a double edged sword.

It would be nice to be able to raise a rare monster as a blue type spectre, but with those rare modifiers.
I agree and applaud the idea of a Keystone for Spectres that would allow their rarity powers to apply, but limit it to 1 specter or a shortened duration.
That would be an ungodly OP keystone idea, and it's drawbacks in getting it would need to be pretty high.
