I need a little guidence

Hey guys =)

I need a little guidence regards PoE. I played a little bit in the past, but never got adicted.
Dont know a lot about the game but i rly want to give it a try.

The thing is: im a little lost (?) Like... where should i start? Just create a new random character and experiment with it? If i want to rly learn the game what should i do? Suggestions? Tips? Should i copy a build? Go full hardcore league? D:

Any tip or advice welcome.

I suggest you play. Don't try to turn it into an academic pursuit until later. Just goof off. Pick a skill and run with it. Build up a bit of context for which the questions and answers you might read will make some sense.
Just start playing the game in the softcore Abyss league (not HC). You can try different characters and skills. you will learn every minute while playing the game.

You will probably ruin your first, second character but it´s part of the learning process.

There are some nice guide for new players on YT so you can check them but don´t get overloaded.

You can follow the build but you have no idea what you are doing right now (how things work etc) so I couldn´t recommend to use it for your first character anyway (but it´s up to you).
Agree, just jump in and play. That will fine you context for what you read in the forum. Just don't get discouraged when you die a lot and your first build can't get too far. That is standard for first characters. Once you've played a bit you'll figure out some questions to ask.

Good luck!

I'll rock the boat by playing devil's advocate. :)

While for some people the above advice is absolutely correct - it was for several of my friends - for me I found the opposite was true. Path of Exile can have a lot going on - and if your build is a bit dodgy, you don't know any of the boss fights, and there's some game mechanics you're not aware of - it can be overwhelming and feel like too many things are going wrong.

I enjoy rogue-likes and in them dying's just part of the game. I never felt the same way with Path of Exile, where items say you can't be slowed but then you can be slowed anyway, where the game quickly takes you from 100% to dead with no explanation, and when the people creating the game will get bug reports telling them that a buff isn't working only to explain that the buff does work - but the buff isn't a buff (I'm not kidding...) so it isn't represented in the buff bar or by a graphical effect or indeed any way at all and that all of this is working as intended.

The game is mechanically very deep and you'll have interesting deaths where you feel liked you learned something from that attempt. But you'll also come away feeling downright cheated from some of your deaths. Here's one example. A popular streamer who'd been playing the game for a while killed a boss, then got one-shot. An off-screen enemy with a powerful ability called Detonate Dead exploded the boss's corpse as Ziggy approached it. My advice would be to watch the look on his face as it happens, and ask yourself if you want to go into that blind.

If you follow a build guide you'll... well, actually you'll still encounter all of the above. But you'll be doing so with a character using a build which is known to be reliable, so instead of attempting to learn everything at once you can learn a bit about the enemies, the game mechanics, and the bosses. Then when you're more familiar with them, you can create a few of your own builds - which will probably suck, but less than your first few builds otherwise would have.

I found the game more fun when I broke the learning up into manageable chunks rather than trying to take it all in at once. This won't be everyone's preference, but it's worth considering.
Thanks guys =)

I found a witch beginners guide. Gonna slow down, play slowly on a non-hardcore league just for learning.
Already got the basic stuff. Let's see what happens

thanks for the help =)
