Ook, that's new to me, thanks for the explanation!

This was not always the system, these flat def dual-base prefixes came in with Fall of Oriath in August 2017 (Version 3.0.0). That release also brought the hybrid def/life mods.

Added new prefixes for Armours. These can only appear on hybrid armours, and replace the pure added Armour, added Evasion and added Energy Shield mods which could previously appear on these armours. These mods grant the following at 75% of the values of their 'pure' counterparts: Added Armour and Evasion Rating, Added Armour and Energy Shield, Added Evasion Rating and Energy Shield.

The ingame wording isn't "Added ..." though but actually "+# to <defense>".

Mods like "% increased Evasion and Energy Shield" were in the game for much longer, so only the flat def system was changed. Consequently you can easily find legacy items in standard with only one flat def mod even though the base item is a hybrid defense type.

Yeah, I still had in mind the fact that in case you got a hybrid dmg/acc or spelldmg/mana on weps, you could just master craft the single one. I didn't read that line on the 3.0.0 patch notes (or more likely did and didn't realize what it meant), but thanks for further explaining this.

Thanks again, bro.
