Potato graphics no longer works

Setting texture quality to lower settings using the the config file no longer works. I was trying to set texture quality to level 3 and lower and observed no change. Can someone explain me why it no longer works?

why did gg do this to us, all potato players suffer now :(

And, if Chris believes that I can pull $500 off my ass to buy a computer, that can run PoE on the lowest settings they allow now, he'll have to send me to Hogwarts. That's the only way that magic trick is happening.

first they screw up the dx9(ex) client performance in last expansion and now the potato mode is gone. And shadows still cant be disabled in dx11. Sad part is I was actually kinda looking forward for new patch, now i can only spew profanities on the address of GGG and their boss.

But hey I am super immersed now with 15 fps when nothing is going on.

Yea i've been having fps spikes nonstop every 2-3 seconds tonight. Realy realy annoying.

PoE was running fine in FullHD on my 5 year old i7 laptop with GTX670.
Until today. Now its hardly playable. Stutters, freezes, super low fps. In groups, I just fight blind eyed.

Does 3.1 force us (me?) to buy a new PC?

Yup, exactly the same. Everything was fine yesterday, today it's running absurdly bad.
