Is boss farming viable?
I kinda hate maps because so many mods are unplayable (reflect, hexproof, pseudo-hexproof, temp chains sometimes), and I kinda hate Uber Lab because of the traps.
But I really like Atziri. Haven't done Council or Shaper yet, but I'd probably like them too. But is this viable? Can I make enough income to sustain running any of these? Like, looking at Shaper right now... Two of his 4 drops are worth more than his keyset. But does he actually have a 50% chance to drop one of them? Or are the drops weighted severely against one of the good ones? I'm skeptical because, with all the characters running around (literally) that are able to effortlessly kill Shaper & Friends with no problem at all, why would they be able to make a good profit 50% of the time? Seems like it would be too easy for such people, and thus the market wouldn't really allow it. But maybe those people just aren't doing it for whatever reason? Too lazy? Don't need to farm, already too rich? I don't know. So I am asking! :P I'm pretty sure my character can handle Shaper, especially since it sounds like you can avoid most of the problems he'd cause. My only concern is that one of the "random map bosses" might be one of my banes. Geoffri is a bitch for me, since I run Blasphemy auras. (Does his nova have a cooldown? Can I run in, trigger it, run out before it hits me, then go back in and be safe?) Last bumped on Oct 24, 2017, 6:47:19 AM

There is no profit from farming any event boss this late into the league.
As for map bosses, well, they don't really drop any worthwhile loot a random rare would not. IGN: Arlianth

"Council is easier than Atzooby. Like, 3 times easier, even scrub like me who struggles to not lose all ports to apex can do council deathless. And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

Hmmmmmmmmmm but does each drop have an equal chance to drop from these bosses?
i.e. Does Shaper have a 25% chance to drop a Starforge, or is it more like a 5% chance, and he USUALLY drops a Touch or a Walker about 80+% of the time? |

The good drops are a much lower chance.

Then just play maps blue - you'll get stuck about level 8-9, but it will give more exp then Atziri. And less trading.
Or when you trade buy cheaper higher maps and run them blue - no need to play hard mods then. I consider temp chains a trash mod with good boni - moving is only a little bit slower with shield charge, and charges + potions stay up longer. DPS should be high enough anyway for clearing. |

Well I'm level 90, I'm not interested in gaining levels as much as I am interested in being able to just fight bosses consistently.
Map bosses are aids, though. Maps in general are aids. My build isn't that great at trash clearing. I 1-shot everything, but only a little bit at a time. No huge sweeping AoE, no 400% move speed, none of that horse shit. Just a legitimate, self-planned character with down-to-earth stats. Blue maps are like easymode, which I guess is fine, but it feels stale. There's virtually no drops, and the bosses get obliterated before I can even enjoy it. I feel like I'm just running Uber Lab every now and then to relieve the mapping from my system, in which I hungrily seek out Argus, eat it up, fight Izaro 3 quick times, and contemplate if it was worth going through all the trap fuckfests for. Honestly, what I crave is what I suggest in my OP. I want a self-sustainable boss farm... But if the drop chances are not equally distributed, it sounds like running any of the bosses averages out to be big time currency loss. Seems like kinda bad design to me :/ Yet again. |

lol... Just ran Pale Court.
Did die twice. I mostly went in blind; I only knew vaguely that it's a room with 4 guys that rotate invulns. What I didn't expect was that they jerk around, teleporting back to their circle, giving me no leech target quite often, while I'm being constantly pummeled by some kind of black Firestorm or whatever that's chunking me every tick. Kind of a sloppy clusterfuck of stuff. But I eventually got the idea that I should ignore the middle, and just skirt on the upper edge and jump each guy as they become targetable, aggressively killing nearby adds for the leech. Got these shitty gloves for it, worth 10 Chaos. Yayyyy... Ugh, this game... About to quit it for the actual 3rd time. |

I think best strategy is to lawnmove shaped (put any simple layout map here) under double beyond with bisco.
