My duelist leveled to 48 and killed Kraityn & Oak. I bought Purity and dropped damage auras to run Determination+Purity (at 50+ I may invest in linked gear so I can get reduced mana for auras) and increased my mana a little bit so I can use not only poison but also some traps with my attacks. I swapped some defenses from accessories to damage. And got very slight upgrade bow that has medium attack speed and feels right with Faster Attacks.

344.7 dps Burning Arrow at only 7 mana per shot (favorable rounding after Added Fire Damage). 262.2 dps Split Arrow sustained via life. Poison Arrow, traps. 65 mana, 8.3 mana per second, 1637 life (upping this a bit from passives on my way to Vaal), 1876 armor, 80/74/80 resists with lvl 1 purity (fairly soon 81/78/81 with purity lvl 5).

There's a small chance I might be able to survive Vaal's melee smash oneshot if I have my +74% iron skin granite up. Getting hit by it is a gameplay error anyway though.

Edit: Btw I've felt that being able to include 10-20% increased item rarity in my gear has been worthwhile and noticeable. Happy to say I'll be at 28% for pyramid. I'd rather get a blue and spend a wisdom scroll as my lottery ticket than throw a transmutation at a white. For currency one would take quantity I guess.
