hidden nerf on 6 link ?

Probably RNG, though I also have the impression getting any sockets/links on an item is harder than before. I often waste a dozen jewellers to get 4 sockets, while that used to happen almost never. Same with 4L: A real pain this league. Can't be arsed to try 6L, it's always cheaper to buy it from POE.trade if you really can't do with 5L.

Maybe they nerfed chances a bit to make up for the linking prohpecies which have been added not sooo long ago...

If there was a magical nerf on "6-linking it", then 6 links would be more expensive :V

The expect average of 6-linking something is anywhere between 1000-1200 and vorchi is 100% at 1500. So your gambling for rewards that aren't that good to begin with. Not only it is already much cheaper to buy 6-links on the market, using cards or whatever else. The gamble of the 6-link isn't even a good gamble.

"Payouts" (as in you win) on average is only 33% over the alternative. Your gambling everything for not even a 1 to 1 odds. Further more you can buy 6-links for around 800-1200 fusings anyway so you can even get 6-links for at cost of winning the gamble on average or even cheaper :V

Only exception is that you are aiming to get it in like 500 fusings or something to make profit. Which only for people who has ton of extra capital (can afford the loss), praying to rngjesus or first week of the league so you can't buy it.

So unless you are praying to rngjessu for fun, manually 6-linking items based on need but not reasons of ladder progress racing early on is pretty bad idea.

Its ridiculous! The devs got really carried away with many aspects of this game. The tedium from a lot of the games aspects is beyond frustrating. This is the first ARPG that I dont want or look forward to getting new gear, its just too much of a hassle!

Yeah, I fused a 6-link shortly after I started playing (2012), and I was thinking "easy game!"

I got greedy after that and wasted another 200 on a Belly. RNG gives, RNG takes.

It was like 1200 before the improvement from qual 20%. Try googling that. It's more than doubled chance.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was as low as around 450 avg now, i have seen major 6L crafters claim that after linking many a item.

Ah, well, who can say what the OP deserves? Having said that, POE doesn't care what you need or what you deserve, you just get what you get.

As for need, you are eventually going to struggle with a 5-link unless you can compensate with good gear elsewhere.
