For me, words aren't scary. Not even the naughtiest of words. You see, I've got these things I can defend myself with.

They're called arguments.

Words are far more dangerous than you can think. Words is what ISIS use to create suicide bombers. Words is what Hitler used to justify the holocaust. Words are what was used by the KKK to incite murders of black people. Words is what sects use to entice people in their fake religion.

Words can do far more harm than you can imagine.

well I do agree he's an idiot and I hate his stuff on youtube never been a fan of his. But I don't see what wrong he has done, I think people are overreacting and the developer are taking a dangerous censorship path, I think it will backfire on them.

racial slurs when you are broadcasting something that is seen by milions of people and you don't see the wrong in it?

The guy should get a restraining order from using a computer. All he do is spread racist views/slurs/ideas by making this kind of crap. It's not like it's accidental or the first time. He's consistently doing that kind of garbage while he has a very young and impressionable audience. Imagine if a teacher spoke of the civil war of the US and used the words [Removed by Support] to replace "blacks" when talking about black people.

Imagine the same about WW2 and jewish population.

This shit is dangerous.

Who can you trust to determine which speech/opinion is acceptable?

Is criticizing a religion for practices you don't like hate speech directed at that religion?

Is criticizing abuse by white police officers hate speech against the police or white people?

If we had legal censorship of alleged hate speech in the recent past you can be certain that Martin Luther King, Malcom X, the Black Panthers, anti-war protesters etc would have all been rounded up for anti-Americanism or some other offensive speech code the majority consensus wanted.

The answer is no one can be trusted to determine which opinions or non-violent forms of expression are acceptable. Censors always look foolish in hindsight.

If you give the government the power to ban certain speech because you feel it is offensive/disruptive.

Then when your opposition gets elected then they have the power to silence you.

[Removed by Support]

There's a big BIG difference between criticizing something/someone and using derogatory words just for the sake of insulting someone, especially when it's a word like the n word, a word that was used by slavers to describe a human person that was perceived as cattle, inferior and worthless as a living being. Calling someone that word means you reflect to that ideology and that person has every rights to be offended by it.

Calling someone a "n..." IS hate speech.

Hate speech should never be tolerated.

When stuff like this happens I always like to take a look at what my favorite cuck forum NeoGAF thinks about it. Here's literally 1100+ posts of people virtue signaling about how bad they think Felix misbehaved and what a racist piece of shit he is.

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Congratulations, according to NeoGAF you're a "diet racist" for not taking this issue seriously.

Ooooooo

I guess that makes me a diet climate change denier
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Seriously I do not understand why people got so upset.

Words are neutral it's the intention that count. People are so sensitive today.

what are your thoughts on that people. Do you think people are overreacting? or the outrage is justified.

I had to look into this because I didn't know who you were talking about. As far as I can tell it seems people are right to be offended/annoyed/whatever based on exactly the reasoning you say. Intention matters.
This is what happens when you make something socially taboo. Certain personality types don't care and will actually challenge social taboos.

I remember awhile back, there was a player on PoE who complained about getting their character's name changed, and the name was something like Niggardly Monk. Some snowflake reported it because it sounds like the other word, even though it has a different meaning.

The liberals want to have the US like France where you can literally go to jail for saying obnoxious stuff. But we have the bill of rights? Yeah, they don't care about that document. They shit all over it any chance they get.

Remember that designer guy that got shitfaced and said anti semitic things in a bar in Paris? Lost his job and got charged with a misdemeanor.

Old man Guerlain (who created one of the greatest scents in the world in the 80s, Samsara) said in an interview a couple years or so back: "They worked like (insert N word here, I'm not Jennik so they will censor me for sure) to make it work."

So they wanted to throw the old man into prison, notwithstanding the fact that in his day this was a mode of speech that people used.

Dangerous stuff.
Censored.

As a non-American, I find it hilarious of you being so obsessed with this word. Really. It's just a word.

The N word. Like, what? Do you have any other single-letter words? If so, how funny could it be?

I'm glad to live in a country where I can call the minorities names if I wish. Not that I often do. I can actually call everything the the way I like. In public if I like. It can only make me look retarded if acting dumb, but no consequences. It feels like land of the free...oh wait...

On a serious note, it's overly dangerous to strangle the right of free speech, in any way. As the self-censorship follows. And it's a monster. It's the worst.

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

It includes the way you say it.

Where did it go, 'muricans?
