I like the XP penalty as it is.
The content right now may not be finalized (they are adding act three), so you could just be at a level that has surpassed GGG's content. If not, then I would think this is something GGG may change (character experience gain at equivalent level areas) depending on feed back. However, I do not think that the death penalty should, in any way, change; death should be something the player wishes to avoid. ign: SQLException

I am fine with the XP penalty, especially since you can do things with dying that you cannot do in Hardcore mode (such as coming back to continue fighting bosses). It's perfect the way it is in that it is targeted towards players that have played the game enough to know it, and it is designed in such a way that helps prepare them for hardcore playing.

" Since the dirty deed is already done (thread necromancy) I'll take this as an opportunity to express an opinion that has otherwise been buried in the forums. The only time I really lag bad enough to die is while waiting through the load screen (and facing Vaal but there's nothing to do about that). It would be nice if there was a permanent invisibility & invulnerability buff on the character when they enter a new zone, that expires as soon as they perform an action. This would solve lag-deaths caused by being swarmed by enemies before the load screen even goes away, and offers pretty much no potential for abuse in return. It's a fairly significant issue for me, because it pretty much makes act 2 merciless unplayable for me. 1) There is a grace period when you enter from another portal
2) There is a thread on the dev section (maybe after this thread is created). Meanwhile, I like how the exp penalty works, and I hope the exp part is just a bonus. I even think that people are leveling faster than the dev team expects. Imo, this game is very similar to Ragnarok. I just think there are few other things they can do, rather than just leveling. Item collection (for forging, cosmetic, and etc.) would be an interesting idea. Not only people need more stash, also, people may want to trade between each other. |

i find it hard to complain about dieing when you are over level 65 and have under 700 hp

about the penalty for example I die and the bar goes all to the left.. and die again.. the xp go down more or stay in the beginning of the lvl?
example lvl 12 go of 12000xp to 13000xp... if I die.. the xp go down to 11000xp? or stay always in 12000xp? Wise words buff -> balance <- nerf , need to happen , deal with it
