Why are we Ok with metas arbitrarily changing?
Handful of specs get nerfed down from viable tier, other specs get buffed/created to replace them. And you guys eat it up with the broth dripping sloppily from your chins.
This isn't how a game stays a fresh experience. Last bumped on Aug 26, 2017, 2:28:03 PM

It is in their eyes like yo Berserker is about to be OBLITERATED next patch and I'll just be a slayer.
Stupid shit like that is stupid. Once slayer gets obliterated I go totems, Once totems become obliterated I'll just do RF something stupid. etc etc etc Dys an sohm Rohs an kyn Sahl djahs afah Mah morn narr Last edited by Coconutdoggy#1805 on Aug 24, 2017, 9:32:31 PM

The alternative is much worse - multiple builds trivializing a static content, eventually underpowered classes/items will have to be buffed to keep up with the extremely stale meta, then everything becomes super powerful and trivializes the whole game, new difficulties need to be taught up because we don't nerf anything, eventually infinite progress system takes place with buffs every couple of months which change nothing but numbers, the only interesting thing happening is when a new tier of items get introduced, they will empower your skills by 10 000% up from 1000%.

Can't blame ggg too much when half the nerfs are being driven by the vocal minority and reddit. Remember how many daily threads pre 3.0 had demanding CI be nerfed to the ground?
Other than the stupid nerf to power charges and the death of CI and melee from the aoe nerfs, I would say 3.0 as a whole is more balanced than many prior iterations of the game. I did not want that to sound sarcastic but there is just no way of defending aoe nerfs now. IGN: Arlianth Check out my LA build: 1782214 Last edited by Nephalim#2731 on Aug 24, 2017, 9:58:22 PM

Some of us don't play to beat the game... we play to play. Doesn't matter if the meta changes. You can try something else.

" Out of curiosity, how else does a game remain fresh? Apart from adding new items and skills, I mean. I always thought that was just how things went; MMORPGs, class-based fps, competitive battle arenas, card games... isn't that what they all do? Nerf and buff, nerf and buff? " I highly doubt that. I agree with him. My favorite character is still rocking the same CI gear because eventually the pendulum will swing the other way. |

Uhhh, what? There will always be a "meta" It changes constantly in a lot of games.

I don't think GGG's goal was to create a new meta (if they did, Sunder, SRS, and other good racing skills would've gotten dumpstered), but to make it harder to trivialize PvE endgame. It just so happened that nerfing top forms of defense exposed the next best thing (which is why everybody is demanding life based VP to be removed now).

In two major patches leech in general may not even exist if GGG gets their way and the community blindly allows them to.
The community needs to know enough unified and coherent protest will be enough to at least make GGG re consider major balance or design changes like what happened with the power charge and frenzy charge fiasco. That sort of unified voice was missing when GGG deleted melee aoe skills from the end game. IGN: Arlianth
