Kitava is the most unpleasant and awful boss fight I've ever been subjected to.

From my experience Kitava was a very cool fight, and I like the way it is.. but Dark Souls is one of my favorite games ever so I guess I enjoy some difficulty.

Died some times but once i learned it was easier, and i did with shitty gear

yes i have played melee, first character died a absurd amount of times and i stopped caring after a while. if i go get a bow and play ranged i bet i could play one handed and have zero deaths. like it's not even a absurd claim to say that. the game was balanced around players getting hit only once or twice, not being in melee and getting hit by everything. this is why most bosses hit you for 99% of your hp. they do HUGE hits because they only get a few chances to really hit you. which is part of the PROBLEM, also before you even say anything about using fortify or AA, those are OPTIONS and SHOULD not be required to progress through the freaking story line.
i had a very long message typed out, and then i hit the back key and i lost everything i said, so ill just leave it short.
There's your problem.

You got lazy during the fight and expected face tanking to carry you.

You actually have to avoid his attacks, which is easy in melee range because he has to use most of his AoE farther than you'll be. Every time he does something, just find whatever new blind spot he has to wail on him.
i find the bossfight quite retarded and it doesnt really make up compared to previous end-bossfights Dominus / Malachai
You guys haven't been around too much, have you? If you have never seen a worse boss fight in any video game you must be very young and/or very inexperienced.
Censored.
Yea, I died quite a few times as Raider/Ranger with the Tornado Shot build (messed with LS/Barrage SA/BR as well). There was simply too many things going on for me to both avoid damage and do damage. The deaths did help me play the fight better, but there did still end up being just a little too much going on over all. It turns into a bullet hell type situation where even if you can dodge the boss attacks, you also have to deal with extra minions attacking you as well.

Though I will admit, I have only fought him once so far and only on a Bow Ranger. So it could be a combination of that and perhaps my gear wasn't quite where it should have been, I'm not sure. We'll see how this Occultist run goes, though I'm running ED/Contagion/Wither so really I just throw my dots and dodge, I imagine it won't be quite as bad with this play style.

I think I like the boss designs overall because, at least for many, it seems to break you out of the face tank and hold right click mentality. Which is kind of cool, in my opinion. I like that they are trying something different, but perhaps in some cases tuning is required. I wouldn't want him completely nerfed as the 'end of story' boss should be challenging.

Merc Malachai and Innocence were much worse. Unless you're on hardcore or SSF, this fight is ridiculously easy provided you obtain cheap passable gear while capping resists.

Buying a 5-l body armor, loading your main gem into it, and attaching supports.
fun fact Kitava is actually the old Iron King from dark souls 2

I dont see any any key!
Kitava is the easiest endgame boss by far, no comparison to Dominus or Malachai.

Also doesn´t matter if you´re ranged or melee.
I thought the fights were great and engaging as a melee character. You don't just hold RMB and watch Netflix and collect loot. You actually have to wait for opportunities to do damage and dodge stuff.

The damage could maybe be tuned down a tiny bit but otherwise I wouldn't change anything.
I can't even walk around, he does this thing that just kills me without warning.

He feels 4 times harder than anything else.
