"Crimson Dance" keystone mechanic

Have only one question

Lets suppose that we already inflict 8 stacks of bleed to the target, will the higher damage hit RE INFLICT one of this stacks? or they run till the end, and only than i can inflict one(or whatever) more missing stacks?

any thoughts?
you can have more than 8 bleeds on the target its just only 8 tick for damage. Whichever 8 are highest will tick at any given time so if you have 8 damage rolls ticking and you suddenly drop a crit (with the keystone) you now have 9 dots on the target, but 7 + 1 crit is what will be doing damage.

The source is its how the game works, ignites are exactly the same and always have been to my knowledge, if you ignite a mob for 1000/s then hit it again for one that does 1200/s the 2nd one does the damage the first is still present but irrelevant unless you've got some duration shenanigans going on.

You can check the wiki page for info on damage over times, the first line "All damage over time effects are a kind of debuff. A creature can have multiple applications of these debuffs of the same type but usually only the one with the highest damage per second works at any given time (except for poison where all applications stack cumulatively); this is true even in the case of effects applied by different players or sources."
Thats also how I understand Crimson Dance. Without it, always the highest damage bleed stack would apply. With it, the eight best stacks apply.

and what will happen if target already have 8 stacks, will higher damage hit re inflict 1 stack?
This keystone and perfect agony are something I can't make use of in any way I try to do something in path of building.

It just looks like the tradeoffs they have are way too huge to make any sense and that makes me ask the question again, what did they think when they released poison with infinite stacking and better scaling options than both ignite and bleed in 2.2

Like for real, now you can stack 8 bleeds, still punished for small rapid hits and it has a 50% less modifier built in.

I bet my ass you would still do more dmg if you just had a way to poison (even tho it was finally balanced).
