Farming zone in the Epilogue

As the posts above me have stated. It was a form of gameplay that some people miss. Why is it so hard for those who dislike the idea to understand that? It's not a necessity, it's a form of gameplay and currency generation that we want back.

i have to kinda go against this idea. im glad there is no dried lake in 3.0 actually gives early tier maps actual use as too many skipped the earlier tier maps.

your meant to finish act 1-10 then progress the story into maps thats the whole point of zana's quests and new dialogue leading you to a map device.

kinda defeats the point if your not starting mapping untill 80 like some was in 2.6 because dried lake was vastly quicker for them.

While I can agree with you that early tier maps now theoretically have a use, I can also argue that this is actually hurting the atlas. I personally am shaping my entire atlas this league simply because I'm forced to run the lower tiered maps

Even if you want to run shaped red maps, you need to unlock the lower tiers with bonuses, so that you can sustain the higher maps.
You just ignore white maps anyway when they drop in red ones ....
Plus, if you don't do that, you cannot use your sextants efficiently.

And I find the innocence a10 map also pretty good for easy farming.

As said before, it was removing a lot of incentive to run the lowest maps.

I see that you want easy farming, so that's what it is about at the end, it's probably a good thing that it's gone imho : less mindless easy currency farming, and likely more diversity of content ran.

If you want a farming spot, there is a the merc lab too, and some of the a10 areas.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Mostly, I think that players just are so attached to the old, they've not noticed that the new has provided several options that, from my experience, granted faster EXP/hr and probably loot/hr than Dried Lake ever did:

  • The Harbour Bridge - Only level 60, but super-linear, long, high mob density. I could hit 150-200 million EXP/hr in this zone, which is faster than I'd ever gotten on Merc dried lake.

  • The Reliquary - Level 67, so same level to Dried lake. Mob density is INSANE, and with projectile skills, lightning-quick clear. Far better than Dried lake ever was, with added benefit of having a waypoint IN the zone, so no need to load town between runs: just use the waypoint to create another instance!

  • The Canal/Feeding Trough - level 66-67, so comparable level. Map is rather linear, mob density is rather good. Clear is slightly slower due to how overtuned Act 5/10 mob HP is, but still rather solid.

  • The Merciless Labyrinth - Level 68, under-valued since its release. While Izaro (and especially Argus) may prove too much for fresh characters, you CAN always just farm what you can, leave, rinse, and repeat. Fastest source of orbs I've found since 2.2.0.

So really, I feel that the complaints aren't well-founded, and mostly come from a resistance to change/find better alternatives... Or maybe just clinging to that silly hope that one day, they WOULD get a whole set of "Brittle Emperor," in spite of never having gotten a single drop of it. (I've had all of one in history, back in Talisman league when I was spamming the zone to get my talismans converted for a stack of Rigwald runs)

But seriously, this is like when people complained at first when "Docks was nerfed" (bumped down like two levels) with the addition of A4, and THEN people discovered Dried Lake and promptly forgot about Docks ever existing. Same deal here.

I would first like to start this thread by saying, amazing campaign. It adds a completely different feel to the entire game, and makes the entire game come together very nicely! I love it! 10 out of 10 for the update!

There is really only one thing I miss about 2.6 and before, the Dried Lake. I personally used to be a Dried Lake farmer, and I'd do hundreds of runs a day just to get money. All of my new characters would also go through the dried lake until they reached level 75-80 before they went into maps. For me, and probably a few others, the Dried lake was our bread and butter. Sadly there are no areas in Act 10 that are even remotely comfortable to run, not to mention most of them are more dangerous then the Tier 1 maps. Act 9 has the Oasis but you have a 12.5% item drop nerf there which really hurts you.

With that in mind. I'm making a suggestion! :)

Add a farming zone to the Epilogue! :D

The idea of this farming zone would be basically a high mob density open area at level 66. Kinda like a 3.0 Dried lake! This would allow for players like myself who enjoyed the non-stop mass murdering of dried lake to continue our habits. Personally I find chaining maps to be clunky and inefficient at the lower levels, which is what is being forced to happen at its current rate.

Please? :)

Thank you for your time and consideration.

TL:DR - Please add a Dried Lake like area to the Epilogue.

Reliquary in Act 10 is level 67 and has a waypoint. It's not a big open area like Dried Lake, but still makes for fairly good farming.

It's pretty open; if you don't rely on shield charge or other collision-stopped skills, it's VERY easy to quickly clear it. (took me like 2-3 minutes for my Frost Bolt inquisitor who has no movespeed)

Mob density is higher than Dried Lake, and moreover, while Dried Lake's layout was random and often left you in a dead end, Reliquary is ALWAYS made in a loop, so you always wind up back at the waypoint.

You should only need to farm at most 10 levels before you're ready for maps. It's a bit different story if you're playing hardcore and want to over level before A10 boss but either way there are a number of zones that are pretty quick to level in before you start mapping.

What is the point in another one?
