Is it time to increase the number of default stash tabs?

Said this in another thread about this and it bears repeating over and over. Do they keep adding more and more content encouraging stash tabs purchases? Hell yes. Doea that mean free to play people have a right to constantly keep an expanding stash so they never have to be forced to throw money at a game they are get uundreds of hours of entertainment from? Hell no.

If the piles of content are getting to be too much for your stash, maybe throw some money their way. They aren't a charity. They keep adding loot to encourage purchases. No they aren't pay to win. You can manage without any stash tabs buys. Is it pay for a ton of convenience not using mule chars and accounts? Hell yes. I made it my first year I think on 4 tabs. Bumped up to 10 and was happy for a long ass time before I splurged and jumped to 28 currency, essence and divination. And look at that, this game has also given me like 5 years of entertainment. I think they deserve the 200ish dollars I've thrown at them.

Just look at runescape's model. F2p took years before it started getting thrown a bone. Don't expect any more from GGG than Jagex.

Overall, D3 offers a very fair amount of MTX and you gain them by playing the game. To me, this is much better than giving stuff out for free or hiding it behind a paywall.

You know D3 MTX is hidden behind a paywall of at least 60$.
(And after i payed 60$, during the first 3 weeks i had a day off and the servers were down the whole day!)

I hear the new character is also hidden behind a paywall of 15$...

You talk nonsense :)

You don´t have to pay anything to unlock these additional tabs, pets or skins. You unlock them by doing challenges, similar to those at POE. As more you do a season, as more you unlock, no money required. :)

That servers are offline is pretty normal, look at GGG and how many problems players have here. It´s been months that they added a fullscreen bug at Dx 11 and it has yet to be fixed...

Say what ya want about Blizzard and their casual approach to gaming, but they at least fix bugs within hours and except for hearthstone, offer fair deals for their players and a huge amount of free stuff.

People are never happy and want all for free, please stop complain !!!

Player who play 60 hours to X years should consider to spend some money in this game if they can afford it (at least 10/20/30$ in enough only for some tab). This game need some money to be online guys and economic model of path of exile is the better i saw with dota/lol.

POE isn't a F2p game, it's a real free game. Never forget it.

In case where you can't pay for extra tab because no money, i understand your complain and i am happy you can play for free to POE but if you want more storage then make alt char/account. :)

If POE would be a sub based game, I would pay, just like I do with many other games, some I don´t even play that much, like WOW which I didn't play for months. :)

I am not greedy, but a person of principle and if you tell me I can use your stuff, only to trick me into spending money for it, then this is not nice.

Point is,

POE is supposed to be free and I admit, they are quite fair with offering us all acts, classes and the like. I wouldn´t pay POE, if it wouldn´t offer such a fair experience, so kudos to the team!
I also don´t mind that cosmetics are paid content, but I do mind that there is no way how we can gain stash tabs by playing.

They add so many items every three months, but the tabs are still limited to four. I have often thought about just dumping 10 bucks for three tabs, but then this would go against everything I believe in and I have never paid money for a game that is supposed to be F2P.

I also have a problem with the currency GGG is using. If I would want a stash tab, I can´t buy one, but the currency, said currency, however, is so balanced that I will always have some over. If I pay 10 bucks, I get three tabs and 10 coins, coins I have no use for. :)

The guys at GGG are very smart and know how to make people spend money, their product is great and I enjoy this game a lot more than I do for instance D3 in it´s current state.

But as I said, I believe in true F2P and that´s where my personal attitude towards opportunities to gain cosmetics & tabs, comes from. GGG could even go that far and just give us 1 coin for every challenge we do. In a few season we could then buy a tab, it´s better than nothing :)

Please don´t mistake my opinion for being rude, the game is great and I am sure the guys love their product and invest a lot of time and sweat for it.
I just realised that new players got only 4 stash tabs ? really ? back in time we had 10 free stash (maybe it because it was the beta but...) they really reduce the base stash tabs to only 4 now ?? that's mean...

Four tabs are plenty to get a great amount of enjoyment out of the game. Upconvert currency and don't keep a bunch of trash around. Low bid trade uniques you don't want to use (good old fashioned trade channel works).

Having more stash tabs will really help organize and streamline your process and allow for more builds as you can gather more gear. At which point you have to decide, am I really going to continue getting this enjoyment out of their hard work for nothing?

Drop a few bucks on a game you enjoy and respect the hard work that continually goes into it. Just my 2c... or several hundred bucks as it turns out.

Nah people want free tab without any condition. Next step they will want free premium tab, then free currency tab.....etc

Endless.

You can buy some cosmetic at 5 coin or give this coins to your guildmaster (guild tab, slot).

- Diablo 3 has 1 Stash Tabs initially.
- You can easily unlock an additional 5 stash tabs via in-game actions.
- A further 4 tabs can be unlocked if you complete a grueling set of challenges 4 times. This requires Reaper of Souls Expansion Pack.
- 2 more Stash Tabs can be acquired via purchasing the Necromancer DLC.
- Stash tabs are smaller than PoE's, but items in the game either take up 1 slot or 2 slots.

All that, locked behind a $141 AUD paywall (if you consider initial release prices). You need the base game ($90) for 6 stash tabs, the Reaper of Souls expansion ($30) for a total of 10 stash tabs and the Necromancer DLC ($21), to have a total of 12 tabs iirc.
