Herald of Thunder HoT is a skill which can be activated when you kill a shocked enemy. While "active", lightning bolts periodically strike enemies that are near to you, dealing lightning damage for a short period. To shock an enemy, we use shaper of desolation. This causes any hit (except for HoT) to shock an enemy when the right conflux is active. Hits that can shock come from abberath hooves, shield charge, and cwdt level 1 setups. Ignite Stormfire ring gives HoT the ability to ignite. Using gear and the skill tree, the build obtains up to 100% chance to ignite. The build focuses entirely on scaling the ignite damage for HoT. Since the initial hit deals lightning damage, that means we can use Elemental Equilibrium. This, when hit by lightning damage, lowers the enemies resist to fire by -50% Ignites spread to nearby enemies using Beacon of Ruin as well as Abberath's hooves. Here's a couple of metaphor to explain how they are different: Beacon of ruin If you go near an ignited enemy, you get burned. If you move away, you are no longer burned. Abberath's Hooves If an ignited enemy dies near you, you catch fire and can proliferate to other enemies. Righteous Fire Because ignite damage is extremely difficult to scale, it is not very effective against high HP bosses. With enough fire resist and life regeneration, RF can be sustained to deal considerable damage. It is also scaled by most modifiers which affect HoT - so they both scale quite well together. Note: zboard has been experimenting with a few different mechanics using Vessel of vinktar and Inpulsa's. Inpulsa negates the shock to you from Vessel of vinktar while greatly boosting vinktar's shock effect. Look for 30% HoT reserved enchant. A 7 link elder helm would be BIS for RF. You can potentiall get "increased burning damage", "conc effect", and 30% elemental damage essence mod. Scales burn damage and the life gain on ignite is great for mapping. required to use Righteous Fire Look for life, resists, and if possible, 30% damage over time (unless you have a godly Elder helm) can shock enemies as well as proliferate ignites even further. Life, resists, and Life recovery (for RF sustain). Easy way to scale ignite and provide massive damage. nice damage boost and attack speed while working well with EoI very important - activates paragon of calamity and provides a huge damage boost. - all round good chest. This is the third version of the Burning HoT builds. After 3.0, ignite was severely nerfed, however it can still be successfully used to clear maps rather quickly. https://youtu.be/AWuVuZTAG00 Required items: - deals fire damage to self and provides damage and life leech - ignites you when taking fire damage - converts HoT to cold, which is then converted to fire - provides 100% ignite chance while you are burning (ignited) - kill worms to activate HoT - Essence of Hysteria - casts fireburst frequently and maintains HoT while mapping. How it works: Herald of Thunder is converted into pure fire damage using Avatar of Fire and Call of the Brotherhood In order to activate herald of thunder, the elementalist's Shaper of Desolation is used to shock and kill an enemy or worm from the Writhing Jar. The combination of Eye of innocence and Mokuo's Embrace cause you to become ignited and take a small amount of fire damage each time you ignite an enemy. Glitterdisk then provides 100% ignite chance while you are burning. This is important to trigger cwdt spells which repeatedly trigger from the damage taken. Lastly, the Essence of Hysteria mod (on a weapon) provides the skill Fire burst - which has a 10% chance to be cast on hit. Since several low level cwdt spells hit frequently, fire burst is activated constantly. Fire burst is linked with culling strike so that it can kill shocked enemies and keep Herald of Thunder activated. When there are no enemies around or fighting a boss, the writhing jar provides a worm to kill and activate HoT. Gear:

HoT damage in town: 650-30k (ignite) 450-20k (hit) HoT damage while self buffed: 1300-56k (ignite) 900-40k (hit) Flame dash deals 25k burn damage while buffed, using empower level 3 and level 19 flame dash. 4L +1 skills gloves work great with flame dash - which can be scaled to do some additional burn damage verse bosses. Hello !
I was playing Abberath's Fury in 2.6 so this build is very tempting to me. I got a few questions though : - How high can you go clearing maps with it without too much troubles (since your video is on a T12, can you go higher?) - Can you kill bosses with this build? (like U-Izaro and stuff, because it was such a struggle with Abberath and having to time the Vaal Righteous Fire perfectly or die). Looking forward to your answers ! | |

I dont know why but it doesnt works with my Gems or with my Gear.
I dont know what is wrong with my Gems or Gear. My Herald of Thunder doesnt works. I kill any Monster with Arc but my Herald of Thunder is not working.
