An unexpected disconnect occured - 3.0

I explained a fix (for me) in this previous thread, but it's not exactly simple for most people.

Essentially, what I have to do is change the path that POE is installed to every time there is an update. For me, this means I have a second partition set up called E:\, and I install POE to a steam library folder (view > settings > downloads > manage libraries) called E:\poetest.

Every time there is a patch, I move the game to my normal steam library on C:\, then delete and recreate the E:\ library as E:\poetest2 or E:\poetest3 (i'm on 5 at this point), and move the game back.

This makes the game load much faster without disconnect issues, leading me to believe it's some kind of glitch in the file table caused by the patching process.

Note this issue only appears to affect HDD installs as far as I can tell.

I keep getting disconnected roughly once an hour. Timing seems completely random. Sometimes it happens while standing around in hideout and other times in the middle of a fight. The game freezes for about 5 seconds, then a frame or two of sound and stutter and then disconnect to menu.

Also, changing to lockstep in UI tab could help, but it would be pretty annoying if you have 105+ms. Still better than disconnecting every min.

Just lost a full clear uber lab before last Izaro fight, keys, offering, a silver cache lost etc.., like an hour dropped to the trash can, so yeah now I just want to watch the world burn xD At least if the disconnections are not our fault we shouldnt pay the consequences no? :\

unexpected disconnection all the time. about once every 30 minutes or so.

was using frankfurt gateway. tried amsterdam too. no difference. disconnect galore.

Same problem for me, but it occured when i use the chat.
After send a message, i get blocked and disconnect about 5s later ...

Same here, ever since last patch I'm getting the Unexpected Disconnect error about every other instance I enter besides in town or in my hideout. Is especially frustrating because I'm leveling a specter necromancer, so I go where I need to summon my specters, then go wherever I'm leveling, and it's 50/50 if I can even finish that zone before I get disconnected, if not it's all but certain to happen in the next zone, so sadly no more POE for me until this is fixed.
