Is it possible to turn off "player blah blah was the first one blahblah" notifications?

Admit it: You don't like it because by the time you've killed Hillock, the first players already killed the shaper...
I like seeing them in SSF, because anyone who beats the shaper in that mode is an immediate god amongst men and deserves respect.

I've often suggested we need a more robust notification system. Triggers should be handled differently is all. Right now it's always "first to" and we get flooded with them at the start and then later don't see any.

Here's what I would do: Create a whole bunch of triggers. "First to enter X would be one" where X is mundane areas. "First to create a hideout" would be another. "First to kill Boss X". There would also be triggers like "created a 6L" or other relatively rare events.

You wouldn't be spammed with these because they wouldn't always trigger. Each trigger would have a cool down on it or an entropy pool.

But every so often you'd get to see what other people were up to.

This. Its funny how so many of the folks that chime in about how vehemently they hate name in lights are people who also bitch about something being unfair for casual players, xp penalties, whatever else.

It's fun for the higher end content but for story progression... its actually quite annoying to see. Since on the first day, its genereally the same person/team of people who really know how to push the speed of the game.

But I don't need to see the first time someone entered the ledge... then the climb.. then the prison.. then the first person to go take a dump.

For things like first guardian kill, shaper, atziri, etc those are fine. In hardcore Rips are of course fine. But this whole every zone gets announced is annoying to see.
