Played D3 for ~500 hours before Reaper of Souls era and loved it. I would gladly buy necromancer and go back to D3, if the game itself wasn't in it's current place. D3 right now is a horrible combination of casual gameplay and power creep, leveling and itemization outside of top-endgame is obsolete. I prefer to choose the better developer and buy a supporter pack.

Pleaseee... although D3 is fun it just doesn't grasp my attention for more than a couple days. When you stop playing for 2-3 years and come back to the same boring builds and the same way to itemize you realize it is just a waste of time.

In an ARPG you should be punished for making bad decisions along your journey.. in Diablo 3 you can literally change your entire play style without having to think about anything other than RNG and finding the right gear. You are GIVEN a full set for seasons... where is the fun in that. Ranking high on the ladder comes down to how much time you spend on the game vs. how well thought out your build is and the content you're going after.

You kind of can't blame Blizzard though, WOW was wildly popular more so than Diablo 2 I think. Where they failed though is to realize they are two different genres with two separate fan bases.


I love how you can find a unique in POE and then need to reroll a character based on the single item/skill you want to use. This is exactly how diablo 2 was... Oh I finally got enough wealth to get a BOTD runeword?? Time to roll a zealot.


Their balancing was god awful.. godly items in vanilla were just rares with good primary stats. WTF!!! I want an item that adds a shock nova every time I block an attack etc. After they realized that grinding for gear was so horrid based on strict RNG they tried to do the Real Money Auction House which really put the nail in their coffin. You should get some type of feeling for grinding loot and finally finding a piece of gear you have been looking for. The thrill of the hunt. There's no thrill anymore with D3, I was fully geared pushing GR70 in 2 days time. Especially easy when a rift guardian drops 6-8 legendary/set items every run.

I used to love the Diablo series. I owned each one, even the officially licensed mod sold by Sierra under the name Diablo: Hellfire. And I bought the collector's edition of D3 too. But after playing D3, I never bought future updates/expansions for it. D3 sucked, big time. Sure, it was fun, but it ruined the Diablo series for me. PoE is my home now, so I won't even bother playing new D3 content. No point in it for me.

After 1000 hours on just one class in vanilla alone I'll never go back to D3. Too much homogenization, and not enough dev communication and support. It won't be missed.

Don't you dare tell me where and when to spend my money! I shall spend all my future money on Path of Exile as long as it continues to be AWESOME! Thank you very much! ^_^

Look at the D3 forums, under tech & games, the PoE vs D3 / pepsi vs coke battle rages on. Its Funny there is always a thread like that going over there.

As far as the Necro goes, its really in a bad spot. I mean, if playing season and pushing GR's isn't your thing, then you could have fun with it. But if you do want to push with a group its a busted and boring ass class to play right now. Run around and wait for Land of the dead to get off cool down, that's it...

Labyrinth in this game worse than Necromancer pack in Diablo 3 for me. GGG's real enemy is their stupid desicions not Blizzard or any other company.

This sum up my opinion about D3 vs PoE.
The lab and the insta death mechanic no matter what you do are the worse of any game I play.
