death penalty too great

I personally think its harsh. If thats the intention that by the time you're level 80 a death is 1-2 hours of farming then fine... but progression penalties..... meeeeh, easy way out.

Maybe the death penalty could be something else. Dont know what...

But if it has to stay i feel a 15% of total gained is much more appropriate. ie at 10% you lose 1.5%. At 50% you lose 7.5%. At close to 100% you'll lose almost 15%. Closer you are to leveling you'll take less risk but the fun of being risky and mental can be experienced when you just leveled up to around 50%. :D.

Sometimes i like charging in all guns blazing and trying to survive the hard way for the lols.

I cant do that at any point except when i JUST leveled as things currently stand.

Softcore should let you be a bit of an idiot at times. Otherwise... why arent we all playing hardcore?

A bit of a nerf to the death penalty isnt going to be too dramatic in making the game easier. Its not easier... you'll still try not to die with all your might... but if you do... you dont bang the desk with your fist at 2 hours of your life wasted because you walked on a screen and got charged by 5 rhoas before you even knew what the hell was going on...
I feel the death penalty is fine as long as the servers are stable.

Seriously guys, a hack and slay has nearly no skill involved, even the super squishy build can dodge and kite, the only thing that matters here is the desync-wall you hit around level 80, where you cant compensate the dsync deaths with pure gaming time.

This is actually a very good idea.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Agree, it should be reworked. Till level 70 you won't even notice the penalty. At 80+ is just no sense, is not balanced.

This. You spend money on orbs and die to desynch then you lose all your progress and your orbs. I think this will push alot of people away.

I die because I am not careful. I do think the frost and stunned mechanic is too deadly against CI builds, however I think its fine the way it is.


You want to get to a higher level learn to play your character better. Get better gear. Not every spec is going to work. Get over it. The game is good because it has a difficulty. The game will suck if it get easy. STOP WHINING.



P.S.: I do think the Desyncing issues need to be fixed, but that is a different topic.

If the issues of desync and not having a place to level didn't exist, this penalty would almost seem to small. Right now it can be a bit harsh, if you get a combo of desync and crap map drops.
