Read here to help keep POE free of JSP using trash-->
I was actually considering using the site to do some trading, since they seem to have cleaned up the botting issues. Then I go to the D3 forum and see people renting their beta for the game for Forum Gold >_<.
The community has left a bad taste in my mouth. Considering you can pay real money to buy Forum Gold and use that to buy items. However, GGG isn't going to be able to stop it even if they wanted to. If people here use the site thats their business. Using insults and slurs isn't going to "fix" anything. As someone who loves the thrill of trading I can emphasis with the people there. However for me personally; using an outside currency and means of trading just seems....wrong. My solution? Don't use it myself. |

As a former user of d2jsp i will fight all day to say it is not a bad site and helps out alot on convenience and lets you spend more time playing rather then spamming, But i do think it is time for all games to get away from a third party raking in other people games. D3 has solved this problem by introducing there very own Auction house. This cuts the middle man out and makes a much safer in game way to trade.
What i think is the best part about the auction house and i support Chopatron with this is that. Everything is done with $USD which completely gets rid of the (Virtual money) which is the major problem in the first place. Virtual money is a system were you can only put in but never get out. compared to everything being done with a real currency were at the end of the day you can take the $10 you made from finding sum phat lute can be used to go to a movie. Could you imagine going up to the ticket booth and saying "ill trade 260fg for 1 movie ticket" trolol |

" yes! im not debating the moral right or wrong. its happened from the beginning and will continue to happen from basic human nature. ive got a 9 and 10 year old that will trade chores for each others Pokemon in the DS games just for an example. being in a secure venue with the ability to both buy and sell in a market set by players with currency accepted in the real world sounds 100% amazing to me. I'm not surprised by this and the situation will only get more entrenched as PoE goes into open beta.
We'll see if this continues as more trading options are added to the game. Happy Days Abound.

" Nah, I did not want to go down that road. I just wanted to make a point: if enough people agree to use X for trading to establish an economy based on X, then X is a currency, no matter if outside people define X as "fake". :) So yes, you can define orbs, fg, seashells, gold (the metal), pieces of paper with the $ sign on it or ingame gold as fake currency, but that insight is irrelevant to the people who use it and the economy it is used within. There's no god given law that makes USD a non-fake currency, it is simply of value upon agreement, but the paper has no innate value (as opposed to, say, food as a currency in times of war). The seashell traders might not even accept dollars, just like we won't accept seashells, but that does not make any of the currencies fake. By the way, besides your arbitrary definitions of what is fake currency and what is not, I pretty much agree with you in this topic. /e: An unrelated thing that you might find interesting: your latest rolling spree involved orbs of a combined value of roughly 10000 fg. Disregard witches, aquire currency. Last edited by dust7#2748 on Mar 1, 2012, 5:59:13 AM

" I agree that D2JSP ruins game economies... I have a jsp account but I don't use it any more . my hopes for POE though is it has a balanced economy. And I hope JSP//POE stay separate. Last edited by 105731337#0836 on Mar 1, 2012, 8:04:04 AM

Do you guys even understand how trading works??? Seriously...wow!!!!
Here's how it works, you have something I want, I have something you want and if what I want of yours is more valuable to me than what you want of mine and vice versa, we trade. So simple and yet you guys just can't seem to comprehend it. I understand some of you guys have a personal vendetta against d2jsp. Most likely because you are a scammer and got locked and tagged for it. I've been a member of d2jsp for 4 years now and during that entire time, any talk of botting is automatic post deletion and likely a 24 hour suspension and warn. So the whole "cheating" thing goes right out the window with any clear thinking person. Back to the trading though. I have lot's of nice rares. I play other games and don't care to trade my nice items for other nice items that do me no good. I would rather trade it for currency that will help me in other games. Sites like d2jsp do nothing negative for game economies. Please offer tangible proof if you wish to make such a bold and idiotic accusation. Laboring under the assumption that it somehow gives people an unfair advantage is laughable at best. Everyone on here has the same potential to get what they want, there is no double standard or bias. Let's take that unfair advantage and talk about it. What does that mean? Somehow, because I traded my gear on d2jsp that is works better than your gear? Maybe since I used forum gold, my axe that had 134% increased physical damage now has 900%. That would be an unfair advantage, but unfortunately it still has 134% and yours with 145% still does more damage even though you didn't use d2jsp to get it. Yeah, saying it's not fair or w/e is totally clueless on your part, there is no unfair advantage. |

" I have a good standing account from D2JSP - tens of thousands of posts and thousands of FG. diablo II died when D2JSP became the main exchange for items//goods. noone hung out in channels as much and held trading games... so on |

" Funny I've played d2 from the time it came out till a couple years ago. D2jsp started in 2003-2004. A couple years ago, trade games were thriving and d2 was by no means dead. It may have changed and you didn't like it, but it was very much alive and thriving. I mean honestly, do you even see what you are saying?? "noone hung out in channels as much and held trading games... so on" Your right, they were able to actually play the game more. However, that's not even close to the point. The main point of playing a game is playing the game, not hanging out in a trade channel, or spamming every few minutes what you are looking for or selling. Some people really enjoy trading, I don't mean to rain on their parade. Many more people don't want to spend most of their gaming time trading or trying to find what they need. Using this forum or d2jsp to post things up where people can look at and respond to at their leisure is a benefit to the game, not a hindrance. You seem to think that it is a hindrance to be able to find exactly what you are looking for in the most efficient way available. I'm completely lost on trying to understand your viewpoint for what's good and bad. |

" You liked trading games? I always felt that I would join one, spend a lot of time showing all the stuff I had, to find out that no one in the game need it. I guess if you like trading a lot you could get enjoyment out of getting some really good deals, but it seemed to me like it just took a lot of time when only one person could look at your items at once. I personally would rather keep playing the game an just let thousands of people look through a post on a forum to see what I have. GGG appears to have something even better in the works with being able to trade on the actual forum without needing to be in game. I also struggle to see the diffence between the spam bots in the bot wasteland that is Diablo 2 and the people on PoE spamming global chat every 5 minutes trying to buy/sell the same item that no one has/wants.
