And ordinary PoE works, even to patch it. | |

Mine finally connected, downloading now. I think the patching server is just more limited than the standard launcher in terms of capacity as the beta is intended to be a smaller group. As for why steam works, the content (game data) is hosted by steam, which of course can handle an incredibly large amount of requests simultaneously.

the beta patch through steam is working fine because the file's coming from a different server, just seems to be limited slots when trying to connect to ggg's patching server through the standalone client.

Downloading now, 1-10kb/sec on a 100mb connection... I hope it will be done before the 3.0 launches, LUL. Damnit, hope it will speed up soon.
