Why have I only just discovered Grim Dawn?

Why don't you try melee? It's a thing in GD, and the feel of impact in fights is real.

I pesonally avoid ranged chars in GD, they somehow feel bland and annoying to control/kite in fights.
Hitting stuff with a big stick is more relaxing.

No. I like spells.

Doing Tsunami > Owl > Tempest > Lion > Crab this time. Then green stuff for the outer thing that needs purple and green with the +100% to each element thing.

And now I have two of these OP rings:

(b) Personal abuse, foul language, inappropriate subject matter, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory or defamatory remarks of any nature ... are not permitted.

So I'll take it that crafting items for stats isnt actually possible in this game?

I only just found my first amulet with +4% casting speed, I want max casting speed on every item.

I found a Sceptre with 18% along with my focus and gloves, still cant use the gloves on my rerolled character though, but at least I dont have any points wasted into cunning this time.

Im currently at 12 points in Physique, 16 in Spirit which is working a lot nicer.

You can't reroll the values within the brackets. Nor aim for single certain prefixes/suffixes on an item. Nor choose certain affixes, besides the fixed (predetermined) crafting recipes.

In GD affixes are rare or magical, and items are able to roll with combinations of these coupled affixes, where double greens (rares) consist of 2 X rare affixes. For ex. it can look like this: Shitty ugly crown of disappointment - where "shitty" and "of disappointment" are the rare affixes, and "ugly crown" is the item base.
There are also MIs (monster infrequents) - green items which drop off certain special enemies, with special affixes. They can also roll double.

You can find all the affixes here.

Crafting is of two types: gambling at the vendor (not actual crafting) and hoping for the best, and crafting certain predetermined items from recipes you learn when you find them. Recipes for some items also have the chance to roll additional random affixes.

Yea, so Im just shopping through every vendor I can looking for 18% cast speed items.

Also no longer having sailors guide is very noticeable with freeze and slow effects, but I have a plane for Blind Sage now ...

Tsunami
Owl
Tempest (maybe temporary, remove points for blind sage at the end)
Scholars Light
Lion
Crab
(Hawk / Raven as needed for green points for the rest below)
Oklaines Lantern
Rhowans Crown
Blind Sage

Loads of electrocute stuff for Supercharged.

One of the factions, either rovers or homestead, sells gloves with sick CS, if you specifically need this.

Hmmmmm .... cast speed .... XP gain .... cast speed ..... XP gain .....

Cast speed best for my offense for pooping out missiles under the invincible clickie, but XP gain ...

But cast speed, but XP gain ... but cast speed .... but XP gain ....

I tried the XP gain one, but now I kill stuff a lot slower so hmmmm .... cast speed ... but XP gain .... but cast speeed .... but XP gain!

And then 3 starred orange name boars trap me on a bridge and kill me ... with cast speed I might have managed to kill one faster and gotten away ...

BUT FREAKING XP GAIN OMFG.

There are other items with exp gain, mostly blue. They are basically crap, but sounds better to fuck your head or leg slot up, istead of your weapon - in your case it's a massive dps loss, as this hammer brings almost nothing to you.

On a side note - faster clear speed = faster exp gain.

Exactly, I tried them both and 18% faster clearing speed is much better than 5% XP gain, also I was having a harder time staying alive with mobs not dying fast.

In terms of damage, 18% cast speed is probably as good as at least +50% damage modifiers, if not more.

Lion + the crossroad is 9% HP and 100 flat, total damage aside. HP in GD is as important as in PoE, especially for squishy classes.

Yes yes, I'll take Lion instead now, the 2 points saved and HP is better.

Regarding HP, look at these pants:

I have Bristly Furs on everything.

you know that constitution does not affect max hp, right?

just asking because other games use constitution as an hp stat
in grim dawn, it's your max food bar (food is used up to regen hp out of combat)
