And i've played builds, that use only Hatred to boost their physical damage, and just because Hatred is extremely "cheap" damage booster, that also provides free freeze with crits. Yes, when you use crit build, you will have enough scalers even for pure physical damage - because you have access to 2 extra gems (ICS & ICD) and you should scale not just your base damage, but also critical strike chance/multiplier.

...since the introduction of blasphemy, vulnerability aura is a nice alternative for Hatred, if a player really doesn't want to deal elemental damage. No increased tooltip, but similar, if not more extra damage than Hatred.

Hatred provides not just damage, but also FREEZE, that has a huge defensive benefit. Hatred doesnt eat a "curse slot", that can be used for other curse (crit weakness, enfeeble, etc), or curse can be applied in other way (CWDT, corrupted gloves, etc). BTW, using corrupted unique gloves provides vulnerability for free. Blasphemy also has very limited range (after AoE nerf), so many skills have higher range than it, greatly limiting its usefullness.
Sure, Hatred sucks in maps with freeze and/or elemental resistance, but curses also suck VS bosses and curse-immune mods/mobs.

Resolute Technique on a Melee basically removes all physical scaling from a build. There is nothing like Controlled Destruction. If you use an Elemental Spell you can use Controlled Destruction and Elemental Overload for additional damage on a non-crit build, with RT you have neither of those options.

So overall you would need something to work with RT. I suggested a skill giving more of something and less accuracy, whch would make it bad for Crit builds, but good for RT. I usually would have suggest Flurry as a support, which would basically mean you just randomly swing your sword without much precision, which is faster but reduced accuracy. However with Multistrike and Flurry you would reach very high amounts of Attack Speed and thats bad for the gamestability, so it might as well just provide attack damage (or melee damage).

Didn't want to argue about their usefulness.

But OP wants to get rid of elemental damage, and Hatred can be replaced by blas+vuln with similar DpS effect.
