Not enough skill gems to scale single target phys.

There isn't a real good way to scale single target physical damage attacks.
Trying to make a physical damage Dual Striker with the 'Might and Influence' jewel. All I can get is a 4-link maybe 5. The rest of the support gems to scale phys damage aren't even viable or useful. Worse yet is that you have to start using elemental gems because elemental spells/attacks have a load of supports to choose from. Here are your options. Melee Phys Faster Attacks Multistrike That is really it for reliable damage, unless you want crit or elemental. Lets go through the other significant physical damage boosters. Culling Strike support - The Culling effect is nice, 38% damage increase and the 10% attack speed from quality is also nice. I said maybe 5-link because Culling Strike is decent. It isn't a more multiplier but all the effects it does provide do make it quite viable for a main skill. Your damage overall does suffer though because it isn't a more modifier. Fortify support - this gems damage increase is to low (44% increased not more) for a main skill. If you were to use Fortify you wouldn't want to combine it with Culling Strike because your damage severely suffers. You really only want one or the other. Bloodlust - the drawback on this gem is just dumb. Not realistic in this clear speed meta as it forces you to use 2 skills. One to apply bleed and one to deal damage. Melee Phys on full life - the drawback on this gem is just dumb. CI characters are the only ones that can use this gem to get reliable damage, as if CI needs the help... Any gems I forgot? Added Fire and Physical-to-Lightning both scale off your Physical Damage and Phys modifiers (the latter does also Convert 50% though). Yes, it's Elemental Damage. That shouldn't be a reason to skip them.
Melee Damage on Full Life is generally more usable with high attack rates (or range!) than people give it credit for. Recovery and mitigation/negation options are pretty strong in PoE; sure, it won't apply to every hit, but it'll apply to a lot of 'em. Warchief and Protector aren't Support Gems, but they're support Skill Gems. Some Skills have access to Conc as well, but that's pretty limited. Poison technically works.. I do want to add, pure-Physical scaling can be tricky, especially without access to Conc. 3.0 is adding some stuff, maybe there's something for a pure-Phys setup there: I sure hope so! theres a lack of gems yes, but that in itself presents a possibility -> use dual wield + kaoms, its a solid choice for hc build and it works perfectly fine

Im just gonna have to run Added Fire and Phys2Light My tree is going towards Phas Acro so I'm going to get the 40% cold conversion nodes by the ranger to get the more out of Weapon Elemental Damage. I just think staying physical damage should be a thing. Another reason for not wanting to go Elemental was because I wanted to go Blood Magic. I have to agree with the Goddess killer
When you ask for phys damage scaling people always scream "hatred! Added fire damage! Phys to lightning !" But no! They are not physical damage scalers they are elemental Phys is too blend atm while it should be the most diverse It doesn't have effect on crit and bleed is a boring 1stack dot When your organism is poisoned it's poisoned but when you bleed you can bleed from multiple places They should be switch ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

Bloodlust should be viable for boss fights given you have a warchief or w/e that can apply bleeds.

I know how you feel. Coming back from league of legends I got used that single target skill should have 2-3x dmg inherently. Sadly this is not the case.
Why bother finding a Mirror of Kalandra if it can be [Removed by Support]
Killing the Elder or Shaper while following someone's build is like finding a street using google maps - such an achievement! |
