ASTA Online (Nostalgic feel of Vanilla WoW)
This game has already been shutdown twice, didnt even last 6 months after webzen opened the game back up, population was the games killer before and it is the same now, the p2w elements don't help

" That game was slow to the point where it legitimately triggered me. City of Heroes for example, I could grab super speed or super jump power and move all over the area, jump around on tops of buildings, and crash down on a pile of mobs, etc, or run instanced missions solo, then team up for raids, etc. Players didn't really get in your way in that game. It was like the least grindy MMORPG I ever played. Any MMORPG that doesn't emphasize combat and general gameplay as its main selling point isn't worth playing for me. At some point you want to skip these areas and just get from point A to B, because fighting mobs, getting loot and exp is more fun than walking around areas you've already seen all of 50+ times at crippled grandma speeds. Not only would I not pay for it, I'd rather take a cheese grater to my sack than play vanilla WoW. Last edited by MrSmiley21#1051 on May 3, 2017, 6:39:31 PM

I used to play Anarchy Online as well, but my problem with that game was the best spots were camped 24/7/365 at a variety of level ranges, so there was almost always competition for the best exp gains and loot. You could run instanced missions in that game as well, but the exp per hour was genuinely crap compared to hunting spawns on the map.
They really didn't have enough instances for all the players. Even during non-peak hours most of the spots were already camped. I remember 1 time where I had a whopping 20-30 minute window to kite and kill as many cyborgs to my heart's content and gained like 20 levels. Then a team shows up and cuts into my gains, so I decided to train 50 cyborgs into them, and apparently they all reported me and I got banned for 2 days, my subscription was up for renewal the following week, so I canceled my sub. Never touched the game again. That was bullshit, because most people would "train" as in pull a train of mobs into their competition, and 95% of the time nothing was done about it. People did it to me and I never reported them. A lot of times I'd end up just nuking the train with AOEs, and getting the exp, ty for the assist m8, then they get mad and leave. If you get in my way in a game, you're not a human, you're just an obstacle to my progression, and you'll get no quarter from me. I prefer to just not play games where this is a thing, otherwise things get real toxic, real fast. Last edited by MrSmiley21#1051 on May 3, 2017, 6:58:11 PM

No, thanks.
Sometimes I miss my fire mage on WoW, but I deleted her and my hyacinth macaw many years ago specifically so I'd never return. I've tried several others in the time since but, unfortunately, as nice as they look nowadays they all feel near enough the same in the end. Have fun though. :) |
