Using a different engine is a design choice, that doesn't excuse the pisspoor performance

You joking? Just the fact that you're forced to play on lowest setting should ring a bell. The lag/fps spikes are from your low-end pc config. It's not something that GGG needs to fix. You need to upgrade your PC.

I understand that PoE it's not the most optimized game in the world but it's not that badly done. They could work on particle emitters and optimize in some degree the "ground AOE patches". I think I'm not sure tho that they use 3D models for icy patches at least with particle emitters and it would work way better with sprites. Same on burning ground. I see the sprites but there's that smoke there that burns the GPU so bad.

But I also noticed that the spikes are also related to bad network connection since it's lockstep any single delay or loss in network will translate into performance issue [ fps spike ]. EG. My game works better when the servers are not that loaded with players and the gameplay seems way smoother than when the servers are full.


Another example to those randoms naysayers still crusading about things they ignore. You played only the last 2 leagues and think you can ensure that its players problem ?
Performance problems are huge for years in this game, nothing you can say will change the facts, i won't dress a list of the threads here or on reddit, because you are convinced it's on players' hand. But problems last for years and became awful for a large majority of players.

Naysayers like you though, are the main reason this forums has the worst reputation possible tho. Tons of players quitted because of this, and because of the crusade from players like you who thinks since game is okay for them, then it should be for everyone.

Particle effects are aimed for years, lags on boxes/rogues/camps, grounds effects, ah and did i say that in the past, POE was possible to be played in a 6 player party ? Pretty sure you didn't even know about that, since now POE become a solo found game.

As for beyond, summoned skeletons will not spawn beyond demons. Any non-XP mob will not count towards beyond counts.
