Using chance orbs to get specific uniques

I chanced voll devotion once from first attempt (it's around 360 orbs and amulets you can take to zana mod map). From then on the only chancing result was unique stronbox in a league.

Idk about lower grade uniques but I haven't ever got a wurm molt from my HH attempts so I think generally it isn't reliable way to go.

60 orbs? 200 of them? LMAO. Dude. You're cute.

Nope, just casual.

You went SSF so that's not really an option, which I'm sorry to be brunt, but a colossal dumb move if you actually want to make any kind of gains in a game with such harsh RNG.

Making gains? I prefer to play, not trade. I choose SSF because it suits my playing style. If that means I won't be seeing any high-end content, then so be it.

I'd say save up 1k of each (chances and scours), pour yourself some wine and prepare your mouse ;)

Lol. That sounds like a plan... it has to be good wine though, at least item level 90.

If you are SSF chancing is very useful for you, if you need a common unique for your build. Just don't try to get a rare chase unique, cause thats really not gonna happen in 100 or 200 chance orbs usually. start to collect the required base white items, start doing the 5x chance orb recipe (same base item with 4 different rarity) and in a couple days you can realistically get a unique.
It's mostly just that chance orbs have so little use for other stuff. Maps from zana are too low tier.
Running magic maps is not worth it (so use alch instead of chance on maps).

Only use left is trying to get uniques.
Well in my experience is better and faster/safer to just tranmut and alt a map till +pack size. Its cheaper this way and u dont have to deal with hard mod to ur build. I levelled 1 char using alch and go and now I'm levelling using this metod with alts and the drop rate of maps its the same. I can sustain tier 10-11 maps easily and sometimes I need to buy some 11-13 but currency is not a problem cause I save all chisels, chaos, alchs and such and sell them. Overall I say that if ur build is weak against some map mods just transmut and alt to do it faster and sell the extra currency/items to buy maps if needed.
I chanced an Alpha's Howl on the very first white Sinner's Tricorn that I ever found.

That being said... if you're a trader, there's no way it's "worth it". Trade for what you want. Save chances for maps, particularly those that can become unique. Chancing items it "worth it" for SSF players and for people going after league specifics for later re-sale.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't even know about that chance orb recipe. Sounds like a good way to get rid of all those multiple copies of the same crap unique, which I got plenty of.

I use the 5 for 1 Prophecy for that. Got me a Primordial Might out of a box. Though most of the time it's just the same old crap. At least it's less of it.

Save chances for maps? lol who the hell does this. Ignore this guy, wow. No no no. You should either use chances on base types such as leather belts or sorcerer boots, vender them for scour /regret or sell them. Using them on maps is retarded.

All over these forums I read people that are "chancing" for a specific unique. I was wondering: is that really worth the try? How big are chances that you actually get that single "wow" item?

It's worth a try only for Skyforth and Headhunter in regular game. In SSF, feel free to chance whatever item you need.

Just remember that chance to hit a unique is actually very low even for crappy items. For big ticket items (Skyforth, Headhunter), it's like winning the lottery. Also, many items cant be chanced at all (lol, nice one ggg!). But like I said, go for it, no reason not to.
