Dealing with Xandro Blooddrinker with Tornado Shot Ranger?

First off, I'm relatively new to PoE. With all the changes and improvements to the game, Legacy League is my first real foray into PoE.

The only enemy I have consistent problems with is Xandro Blooddrinker. I understand his attacks disregard Evasion and killing enemies around him powers him up.

How do you deal with this as a Tornado Shot Ranger? It seems the only way I can kill him (and easily) is if I happen to not kill lots of enemies around him, which of course is rare because I'm generally killing stuff off screen before I even know he is there.

Once he is powered up, he seems unbeatable. Trying to kite doesn't work because he is so fast and his attacks have a large range. Soon as I stop to fire I'm hit and when I do hit, he regens instantly.

If I saw him rarely, it wouldn't be a big deal, but I seem to run into him constantly and if he is in a map where he is unavoidable, it ends my map run...not to mention I lose a lot of xp almost everytime I see him.

So to reiterate, how do you deal with this as a Tornado Shot Ranger?

Either your gear isn't up to snuff, you're not using the right flask to cover your defense weaknesses, or you're trying to face tank him.

And you can just choose to avoid him until you're a higher level. Or get help on global 820 to finish him off if you like.

Yea I'm working on a new bow. Hasn't happened yet. Saving for a 6 link, and I've been farming Prophecies to get Bowstring Music for Death's Opus...to no luck.

Building Chaos resistance on gear, is easier said than done without uncapping other resists.

As for my gear not being up to snuff...you can look what my gear is and make suggestions. Yes there are improvements to be made, there always is. But for the most part it's fine and I have no problems with anything else I've faced so far, except Xandro once he buffs.

And as I said, he isn't always avoidable. Example, I was on Ramparts. It was a single narrow path to get by him, so it wasn't happening. And also as I said, being a Tornado Shot Ranger, generally I don't even know he is there until its too late.

Ya I haven't outright bought an Opus because I'm saving for a Harbinger 6 link...and I've got 2 Harps to use on the Prophecy. Don't want to waste the currency on buying an Opus just to end up getting the Prophecy.

Death's Opus 6L is 3+ Exalted, 5L is 35+ Chaos. I have a grand total of 1 Exalted, after spending my Chaos on a bunch of quality gems last night. I'll be saving Chaos again today.

It's a work in progress, and being a noob I made errors along the way, like not taking advantage of the vendor chaos recipe early enough.

Not sure. All I know is sometimes he has no affixes, or just a couple white affixes. Other times he has like 4 white affixes including a lot of resists and then a blue and yellow affix...sorry I forget the names of them off the top of my head.

From what I read the other day searching for info on him...when you kill things around him, it buffs him up.

Maybe make room for Puncture somewhere. A little love tap every once in a while can do wonders for bosses, especially when they refuse to stand still.

I got Xandro in my Deadly Rivalry with:
- Brutal Shrine
- Ghosted (Thug?)
- Soul Eater

... as a summoner. Absolutely, completely fucked up.

I eventually spawned him into an Act 1 Merc zone to kill him there, but had encountered (and failed against) him in T9-12 maps previously. I recommend cheesing him out if it's happening to you, because that setup was easily harder than anything else in the game including T14+ maps, Atziri, etc.
