Fun Totem builds that still clear content?

Are there any decent Totem builds that can still clear high tier maps? I mean besides the ones everyone knows about like Pizza Sticks, Ancestral Warchief, or Flame Totem. I watched Raiz playing with Kinetic Blast Totems but his single target damage was just AWFUL. Can you basically just attach any spell or ranged attack to a Totem and have it work as long as you use your skill points properly? If your single target damage sucks what would you use seeing how you cant self cast anything for damage. Also what ascendancy classes work best with these type builds?

I'm big fan of totem builds, but probably not experienced enough, so I didn't play any totem build you mentioned. Back in days I played Shockwave totems, Spark totems, now I'm playing Righteous Fire totems. I'm not sure about SWT because I played it long ago, but latest ones are definitely could clear high-tier maps, but single target DPS with Spark are somewhat bad.

From time to time I'm playing Shadow with Bladefall Totem just for fun, but only in Cruel atm. Surprisigly enough it deals more damage then Shockwave totem with same skill tree.

I think if you have 6L Soul Mantle (for example) you can pretty much use every skill with totems and have decent DPS at least for T15(?) if you're overall well-geared.

About classes, imo it's either Hierophant, Inquisitor, Chieftain, or simply Elementalist.
Shockwave Totem with crit and I went with Elementalist, so I can benefit out of Stone Golem (getting 40% increased physical damage) and Ice Golem (double its buff for more crit and 40% increased cold damage to Hatred's portion. A bit too expensive for mana cost once you reach 5L, but it is powerful with a lot of crit and damage overall. With Pendulum of Destruction giving me an AoE buff every ten seconds for four seconds, it makes it more amazing for Beacon of Ruin to apply the freeze proliferation across the pack for faster clearing.

Siege Ballista or what I call it Siege Commander (Skill gem + Iron Commander bow) is an interesting ranged attack totem where you can possibly bypass the totem limit without ever touching Ancestral Bond and/or Hierophant. Since I want to take advantage of that limit, that means I will have to go after dexterity be it from the passive tree and gears. I felt this would fit well with Ranger and even Deadeye since the skill always pierces, so I already get a nice crit chance boost from it along with the bow already having a high base crit chance. Went crit route since it was not hard to get crit around the ranger tree and some from the shadow tree. I chose Deadeye for its flexibility on the build and what it can provide, but it is up to you. There is that meme build in the ranger subforum that was able to build around being able to place like +10 siege ballistae, it was a sight to see. In fact, that build actually was able to be featured in a build of the week video last year.

There is also a ball lightning totem build that uses Sire of Shards to produce interesting results, but I have not personally done the build, so I do not have much to say about it.

Siege ballista can clear maps up to t15 easy, kill guardians and ( normal ) Atziri easy.

Pizza Sticks and Ancestral Warchief are so popular because they outclass any other totem skills. This is bit boring but practical and effective. If you wanna be hipster go Siege Ballista for sure.

Incinerate totems work well (definitely better than flame totems with a 6l). Have no problems with them up to T15 maps. (you can check may char RahnMuessteSchiessen for gems, jewels, gear and tree.)

A while back i've played a ranged attack totem build with blast rain. I farmed Überlab and played high tier maps with it. Should still be working as there were no changes for that build. (-> BloodSweatAndBears for gems, jewels, gear and tree.) BTW empire's grasp instead of rare gloves would be a better choice on that char.
one of the latest totem builds i did besides pizza sticks was liftingnerdbro's crit shockwave totems inquisitor and it worked very well.

shockwave totems are not very popular for some reason but they deal very nice damage and the knockbacks help keep enemies away.

try that one.

edit: oh i also tried that totem build elua linked. it was really fun and effective.

You mention the Meme Ballista BotW build, but not russellhentz's absolutely hysterical Tactical Nuke build? Shame on you! :P
