I confirm that. I play very similar Flame Totem build :) On Legacy league I'm using common Wand (bought for 30c) and I can say that, scepters, decent daggers works well too.

Dagger is better because Whirling Blades is best at dodging.

I ripped my SSF-Duelist yesterday (thx for Volatiles, GGg), your Build sounds interesting, especially becouse Totems are safe and leeching Totems are even safer, but why flametotems? Have you tried Firestorm or Flameblasttotems with your Setup? I guess the Anwser is yes, but what was the big con for other Totems?

I messed around with those yeah, I didn't like them because having to invest in AoE and still resulting in slower clear speed. It's definitely possible to go that route but I think an ignite based approach would be much better for those 2 skills in particular.

Especially Flameblast totems felt significantly less safe due to the time where your totem is still casting the FB while mobs can still run around and do their attacks - flame totem shoots out instantly, so you get stun locks / taunts / instant kills pretty much.

Also, the cool thing with flame totem is that you don't need to use 2 gem slots compared to spell totem + X either.

That being said you can probably make it work if you spend more time min/maxing those. I'd lean to firestorm for getting more constant life leech however.

What if u replace elemental focus for faster casting?

35% increased dmg cause of the burn and the additional cast speed....

Or is elemntal focus just the best option?

May I ask if there is an alternative shield to use until it's possible to afford Tukohama?

That shield is more than 550 Chaos in Legacy and 8 Exalts or more in Standard :-/

Yeah, people played flame totems forever, you can simply use a rare shield with those stats:

50+ spell damage

60+ life

70+ crit for spells

bonus: resists and cast speed (craftable)

You'll have only 2 totems this way, but those shields are super cheap because nobody uses them. Note that mana will be an issue this way, so you have the option to either path towards blood magic on the tree (gotta spec out of it when you get it for free on the Tuko shield eventually) or you use blood magic gem/ a mana flask. (When using a mana flask the Eldrich Battery / MoM combo is really clunky though, so the smoothest is just pathing towards blood magic temporarily)

You'd have to change a lot of things to make that work, like getting enough crit chance or going non crit, maybe go for ignites then, change tree to get blood magic (or make it work with mana somehow, in which case MoM/EB wouldn't work anymore)...basically a significantly different build :P
