i cried when i first met this boss too. he's way overtuned for a newbie who is first time encountering him. and later i realized game likes to spring these kind of one shot mechanics. trick to overcome all this is- kill them before they kill you.

Honestly he is a bit too punishing for melees, but doable, you just need a lot more time, because when the totems are close to him you can't do anything.
They should think about replacing the LW Totems with something else because for ranged chars there are a lot of places they can attack him from, melees have a much smaller area they have to be in, so there is some room for improvement in those regards. The idea and design though is pretty good. |

What were you doing in a torture chamber to begin with? Shaped stand and excavation are the only tier 11 maps you should ever enter and excavation should be sealed once you shape strand.

Last time I tried it on my 70% ish block/spell block gladiator with two topaz flasks a couple of leagues ago, I got absolutely fried. The damage was simply too high to handle if you account for the permanent shocking ground and totems spamming lightning warp. I died before I could shield charge away to hide behind a pillar.
On ranged builds it's fairly easy though, albeit very annoying due to totems piling up on you. |

One of the issues with the boss is that it isn't that hard to make him a lot tougher :P
Vulnerability hurts on him and obviously -max res does. But even the Onslaught mod is annoying since it reduces the windows of opportunity to attack. Removing the totems and replacing them with something that doesn't hurt melee so much more than it does range is basically the only change I would make. |

" " you dont need to hide behind the pillar, the mechanic is that if you break the bosses line of sight on you by simply going around one of the pillars its lightning beam will shut off. So you just keep close to a pillar when u think its going to beam you, deactivate it by breaking line of sight, then move back in. Here, I made vid for anyone struggling. To stop myself just instantly killing it before it could fight back I took off my weapon and threw on a shoddy blue dagger we made with a few alts, try and drag the fight out for a good while. http://plays.tv/video/58daea55a3329afbc2/just-go-round-the-pillar-init you just go around the pillar, the beam switches off, resume attacking, you feel like maybe the window between beams is coming to an end, get ready to do a pillar run again, resume attacking. The totems are not that bad, just dont stand in the middle of all of them warping on you again and again, you can be really sloppy and let them hit you a lot just not all of them at once, if you have to make a bit of distance to get them to warp away from the boss then do so. Once you learn how to shut the beam off and you play around that its a fairly simple affair. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
