shock and horror boss in torture chamber is really poorly designed.

Like terrible, a lightning scorching ray with ridiculous cast speed and a bunch of lightning warp totems ready to give you a seizure at any moment. Realllllllllyyyy bad design.

The laser is blocked by pillars and the damage is a steady degeneration instead of an immediate burst. It's scary, but you can react lone enough to heal yourself, flask a Topaz or move into cover.

The lightning warp totems do scare, but mostly because I remember the days when shocked status effects could be almost immediately fatal.

If you want an actual example of a badly designed boss fight I'd actually point to Daresso or a4 Piety.

How hard is it to move to a pillar? That's not bad design they WANT YOU TO THINK USING YOUR BRAIN.

Still one of the most well designed encounters of the game.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
It's actually one of the only few bosses that feel like a boss. Everything else is just a sack of meat.

More like the opposite, there need to be more mechanically involved bosses like that one.
good design (I also like the new crema boss design although magera will always be my bae), but it still dies in 1-2 seconds to most builds.

the burst damage of players in the game and non-guardian minuscule boss hp will stifle any attempt to make a mechanical encounter that is meaningful.

The boss is fine. I mostly hate the totems cluttering up the screen with their VFX and distracting my minions. Necromancer problems, yo.
