Ok, why is HoWA good?

Explain. What can you do with it, how does it work etc.

Grab two, get sick damage per Int.
Stack Int for Damage and ES.
Hit things with Blade Flurry, it's got Blade in its name so it's super busted.

Quoted for tooth.

The Unique mod stacks, so having two means 10 int = 2-12 flat Lightning Damage.

1000 int = 200 - 1200 lightning damage per claw.

700 lightning Damage per Hit on each claw. Then you get the 10% more attack speed bonus from dual wielding.

Fun times.

Ok, it does look like fun indeed.

But are there enough + lightning damage nodes around the Shadow to boost that damage high enough? I wouldn't know, haven't played a Shadow yet.

I don't see why not. Shadow has great lightning damage availability, actually, perhaps second only to the Witch. And in any case, Shadow has access to crit, which scales almost anything that hits, so you shouldn't be lacking for damage as a Shadow using HoWA.

It lets you scale a stat not normally beneficial to stack by making it give damage in addition to its base benefits.

This also makes rares with a normally sub par stat not usable and in fact, ideal.

The game needs more items like this.

I still feel that nobody has truly answered the question.

It is a bit like Dreamfeather has great multiplier as well but what makes HOWA broken than just strong. I suspect it is all down to numbers in the end.
You can get same or more damage with abyssus crit builds, but HoWA doesn't wreck your defenses like abyssus. Stacking int gives you both damage and ES. Perfect synergy because you want to run CI + GR + VP anyway.
It has completely absurd damage scaling from INT. QA team asleep at the wheel again.

And what skills would you recommend it used with?
