Iam one of the most dedicated PoE player and fan but this is just the most disappointing thing for me, as a german, to see in a videogame or movie etc. Its just ridiculous and angers me to a point that i dont want to play the game anymore AND I SUPPORTED THE GAME WITH MORE THAN 4k EUROS! Only to see the all time bad nazis (as usual displayed as cannibals/baby eater and inhuman beast) in my fucking all time favourite arpg....are you kidding me...cant you think of something original instead of holywood propaganda stuff!! I cant fucking believe it...

GGG please consider to remove the badges from the monster arms and other affilated stuff. Thats not fun and totaly serious!

Not sure if this has been touched on yet but with the removal of cruel and merc whats going to happen with ascendancy?

sooo... whats going to happen to the goddess bound? wasnt the messages only going to be from merc and on? so if we go to 10 acts does that change the sword? or do we just miss out if we didnt get in before? just wanting to know because I finnaly have the sword parts and was debating on makeing a new char for fun or for the sword.

3.0 has me very excited. I haven't been able to play this game very much because my ISP is some kind of hateful cult. Something like 3.0 encourages me to (try to) fix my situation within the next few months.

I think Hruthgard needs to do a bit of research on these Nazis he seems to be so afraid of. Just like how the vast majority of modern Americans know nothing about the Civil War, the vast majority of modern Germans have no connections to the Nazis, and there are even laws in place enforcing the latter (to an extent).

The so-called Neo-Nazis are mere posers at best. Many of their numbers are actually the volatile younger generation looking for mindless "change" at any cost. Dangerous posers.

This is the first time I'm replying on the forum, but I felt this was important enough.

ANYONE WHO CARES NOT FOR SOME HISTORY AND POLITICS, JUST SKIP OVER, IT'S ALRIGHT. :)

I'll start by saying that, on the one hand, I love this game and its ever-changing mechanics and challenges, and, on the other hand, am slightly annoyed at it possibly taking a turn into "everything's a nazi!"
In fact, this is virtually the only computer game I'm currently interested in playing (with the exceptions of some roguelikes), and the mostly sudden introduction of nazis (Piety was very foreshadowing) feels to me like it somewhat cheapens the deal.
I hope the Roman Empire symbolism will help balance the flavors.

The whole matter is personal to me, too. I am a person of mixed heritage, with most of my family being Jewish of various European descents, part of my family being of German descent, and another part being of Irish descent. Both my Irish and German roots are either religious or non-religious Christian.
I was born and raised in Israel, a country that often frustrates me greatly, here as I care for the people - Jewish and non-Jewish - that are in my life.

As far as "more and more nazis" is concerned,
some of the things that frustrate me most in this country of mine are all those many instances where nazi symbolism, words and concepts are cheaply used. They're used too quickly to insult and dehumanize groups or individuals, to raise frantic alarm on subjects, to excuse horrible behavior (because it's ok if it's against "a nazi"), or just to randomly evoke powerful emotions.
Use of this symbolism doesn't bother me all the time. It bothers me when it becomes glaringly inappropriate (I'm a sucker for Holocaust jokes, but at the right places and times), or when it's fully hypocritical.

For example, it bothers me greatly when a political or ideological rival can be named a "nazi" in the blink of an eye (whether German, Jewish, Arab or whatever), as happened often against our only assassinated prime minister. It bothers me most when our government takes credit for itself on maintaining a country which "protects" Jewish Holocaust survivors - yet it also allows one third of them to stay beneath the poverty line, while the rich in our country get richer.

So, yes, I've heard enough about nazis, and very often not for any good reason.
It'll be a great shame if the game's aesthetic becomes pointlessly tasteless.

However,
some things here really have to be taken into proportions.

First and foremost, historically, this really isn't about you or me. Between one Polish writer in this thread who already stated his opinion, and the countless other people and peoples affected by Nazi Germany (or WW2 in general), everybody has a say and privileges to make use of this Human history as they see fit.

This bothers me on two levels:
One is that you write as if it's only the Jewish people that were massacred (or enslaved in work camps) by the nazis. You neglect to mention the hundreds of thousands or several million Roma ("gypsies") who were slaughtered beside them, or your own German people if they were disabled, homosexual, or if they chose to remain married to "inferior" spouses, as a few examples.
The other part that bothers me is that my country's policy is probably a lot of the reason it is remembered that way. I've had to remind many people that the nazis imprisoned and slaughtered many in the name of eugenics and purity (which GGG seem highly aware of :) ) before coming down murderously on the Jews and the Roma. Yet, sadly, in our Israeli education system we don't go to great lengths to teach it.

(If there are or were any doubts, btw, almost every single person I know of Jewish European descent did have chunks of his or her family tree chopped off in the Holocaust.
Myself included. Just like that.
I don't personally know any Romani people, so I can't speak of any stories I've heard face to face.)

Nevertheless, this is not a history that either you or I are personally responsible for. Unless you sympathize with NS ideology, I think this isn't something you should take too deeply. Germany and its people are a lot more than that horrible period. GGG is dealing with "nazis", but, so far - they are not German. They are puritanical maniacs styled as the 3rd Reich, beside others styled as a "Roman Empire", a Mayincatec something-or-other, and more.

That difference is critical, and I hope GGG never forget it. Germany deserves better, as do all others who already have this subject drilled into their heads 24/7.

GGG - please do not goddamn overdo it, it's been incredibly awesome so far.

Been critical in the past and over the Xbone announcement ... I let go of that crap. GGG has never let me down no sense in not trusting them now. I am super excited about the 3.0.0 expansion and cant wait for the 2.6.0 info drop.

Fantastic news and we have a lot of new content to look forward to. However GGG, when you are hiring new people make sure they are able to invent new things instead of copying or referencing other games too blatantly.

First off:

Nazi-like symbols and monsters in nazi uniforms is just a big NO NO for a game like PoE. Please consider remodeling some of that before launch. It makes 0 sense.

Secondly skeletons in wheels and spinning caged skeletons with weapons are very well known entities from the Dark Soul games. Try to refrain from carboncopying like that. I am sure you have more than good enough designers to make up something new on your own as proven by lots of interesting artwork in the game already.

Other than that I just love this change to bits.
