what i truly fear is that GGG will be bound to put effort into the XBox version since they will be accountable to Microsoft. I fear that being accountable on One version will lessen the effort put on the Pc version since they wont be accountable to anybody on the later.

We're really excited about this release. It represents over a year of work from a small strike team within our studio
not surprized, been noticing some lacks of fine tuning in the content releases over the last year and half
When i support i face a dilema:
1) Support to game, according to GGG, with these funds they will make the game better and fix issues such as bugs and performance issues.
or
2) Use that money to buy More performant PC part witch will make POE and other game run better
so far ive always been favoring GGG
but now that i know that 1) is partly a lie, my computer will get better
Pardon me for noticing, but you have exactly the same amount of supporter badges as I do. (zero shown). While I would have loved to be able to throw money at GGG in support of development, it seems to me, it'd be more solvent if you had a list of supporter badges shown before wailing about how your money is used. ~ My two cents. ;)

Why are people crying about a business spending a portion of its profit in expanding?

there was a lot of speculation that D3 was massively dumbed down because they had to make it adaptable to consoles. It kinda makes sense when you watch the videos of D3 Alpha or whatever (10 yrs before release?) where stuff looked really customizable.
People are afraid POE will undergo the same
In theory it is the reduction of a 9x9 sudoku puzzle to a 3x3, which draws in more players, but players who enjoy 9x9 get bored and leave

Well, if you had more than 2 cents you could buy supporter titles and you would then know you can hide them... i got 17 of em
ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

Fortunately, I learned they could be hidden before you replied to me and changed my comment to say 'zero shown' (you even quoted me since making that change, but apparently didn't notice). It would still make more sense to 'show the support' you shoveled into the game before whining. ♥

Yeah I get those concerns but the title of the thread is 'Kinda frustrated that my support went for a Consol port instead of fixing and making the game better'. Paying money to a company and expecting them not to use a portion of it to grow is a bit dim no?

On the brighter side; How many current PC players do you really think are going to move over to the Xbox version? I know I won't be one of them, despite being fully able to do so. The way people are reacting here, I get the impression that the most of them believe everyone will, and I seriously doubt that'll happen. It's like a bad case of counting your chickens before they hatch. ;)

It's a gamble, CEO's always assume they will get the jackpot when they do those console ports but many games have flopped and it wasn't worth it or even costed the company money in the long run (could totally happen with a F2P game). PoE wasn't designed from the get go for the console market, and I don't think GGG really understand the console market; although we must wait and see how they plan to market this to see if they can actually come green out of this gamble.
I cannot imagine how the game is going to be balanced or the gameplay has to be for it to be a success in console, it would be a completely different game, not some "subtle minor differences", and maintaining two very different games costs a shit ton (even if they can reduce maintenance costs quite a bit because XBox is a MS platform and runs on DirectX). This game wasn't designed from the get go as a console game (unlike D3), and the kind of content and gameplay a PC version can have is different than a console version, with GGG limited resources we will see how this plays out as there are not many small companies which are able to successfully pull something like this off.
People saying "no big deal" are missing the point: this already had a huge opportunity cost for the company and it will continue to be a resources sink, if it really doesn't pay off several times we will be worse that we would have been otherwise. If you don't think this had an opportunity cost you are naive, no much how much damage control GGG does.
GGG has been failing many of their adventures lately (relying on third party publishers, keeping and growning interest of 'racing' or 'pvp' aspects of the game, relying on making the game easier and easier to make it more 'popular' which is a cheap solution, etc.) makes me not very confident in their ability to pull this off either.

I hate to use Minecraft as an example (mostly because it's a completely different kind of game), but many people had similar fears when they made the same moves. Even after porting to several different consoles, the PC version is still the dominant one today. ;)
