I'm worried about this announcement too, but I won't stop playin' just because of this; Man, it has been 3 years and I really want to play more and enjoy the upcoming acts - one of them must be on snow, by the way! XD

We have to wait to see GGG's venture people, but as I saw on Diablo I (this games has a PS1 version) Time will show to them that it's not the best idea.

My support went to the MTX and physical goods I got in exchange. I hardly doubt there would be much "support" if it were just a donate button on the website. Everyone needs to stop acting like they're just giving out of the goodness of their heart to further the development of the game.

some how i doubt it will end up that way. i will tell you, they went with Xbox because this game is ONLY running DX9 and DX11. its pretty much already microsoft proprietary already.

let me pose this to you instead, which it has been said plenty way before even vulkan came out. if instead of DX11 they decided to port they game into OpenGL then what do you think would have happened? i can actually tell you they would have had TONS more options available.

..yeah they backed the wrong horse here. OGL being an open format is much better. which on a side note to that they could then step up from OGL and move on to the newer Vulkan if they wanted to later. Vulkan support is already fully there on both Windows/Linux, AND doesn't heavily favor any single manufacturer like DX often does.

i also just want to rub a little salt in here where applicable because this is like the only chance to do it for said game. do you know why Diablo 3 was able to actually release on both Xbox and Playstation platforms? it is because the game runs on both DX and OGL. with dual support like that right from the start they were able to leverage it and branch out fully into the cross platform marketing by releasing mac (ogl) and later on the console games.

Kinda explains why balance has been shit in past few years. Meta skills / items used to get destroyed every league to keep game fresh but here we are. Full speed ahead to casual D3 clone.
