Warhammer 40,000

This is a thread devoted to all things Warhammer 40k.

weather its the table top war game, the many video games, or the many, many novels/books.

so i'll start it off. I do play the table top. i collect Eldar about ~4k points of Biel-Tan and always rising :D. if you do collect an army, what kind?

Warhammer 40,000 space marine is on sale on steam for $16 dollars at the moment. its a pretty fun hack and slash shooty shooty game if your into that sort of thing.
Used to play, still have (very small) armies for Chaos Daemons, Space Wolves, and Tyranids. Was working on redoing my Chaos Daemons as a fully converted army, making them into techno-organic cyberdaemons, but after moving to a new city for this job, and having less free time, I don't play anymore and have basically stopped working on the armies. I still like some of the fluff of 40k, and could potentially start again, but these days I get my miniatures fix from Malifaux - it's a smaller size game, so 10 miniatures would be considered a large force, and that means I can assemble/convert and paint a force in a much shorter time than for 40k, while taking my time to make each miniature unique and make sure I do a good job on the painting.

On the video game front, I played a lot of Dawn of War 1 with friends, and love the game, haven't gotten the second one yet, but might do one day.

Dont know if you have ever tried Warmachines/hordes but its a game where you dont need many models. its pretty fun.

Dawn of war 2 is one sale on steam i believe. and i can understand not having time considering that you guys are doing some fantastic work on Path of Exile.

Looked into Warmahordes a bit, doesn't appeal as much to me. Some of the warjacks are cool, but on the whole it's not enough to pull me into another game, and doesn't appeal as much as Malifaux to me.
Yeah for me its hard to justify spending money on something thats *not* Warhammer 40k.. just because i have close to a few grand sunk into it

Best psyker in the game, bar none. My HQ that took over 8 hours to paint. his name is Eldrad Ulthran

SAWTOPSY TECH DEATH
I bought the Assault on Black Reach starter kit but I'm too lazy to paint it all haha.

I loved playing Dawn of War 1 (up until Soulstorm), but Dawn of War 2 was a terrible disappointment to me.

One of these days when I don't have a ton of games on my waiting list I'll try out the Space Marine hack and slash game.
