Price of Quality Gems?

on average, what is the price of a quality gem, and for what % quality. is there a system set up to price them yet?
just wondering as i'm trying to sell a 17% quality gem, for 4gcp and people keep telling me i'm crazy. the way I see it is its takes 17 gcp to get a 17% quality from scratch, so 4 is a bargain. am I wrong? |

Normally it would be a GCP per 5% but that also depends on how popular the skill gem is.

If it's something extremely unpopular like discharge, you probably will have trouble getting more than 2 gcps for a 17%. 4 gcps for a 17% quality is fine for the majority of the gems though. depends on the gem, but I think its 2% on average. Higher level gems maybe 1, low end gems might be as high as 5. At least thats what gear and flasks do....I've never actually used a GCP on a gem. You can trade a GCP for more quality than they give usually.

Some gems, like auras, have completely terrible quality bonuses; 20% extra aura radius is very unimportant.
GCP's only raise quality by 1 regardless of gem IIRC. |

I have an 18% quality ice shot laying around, but no one has seemed very interested in it. Do you guys have any recommendations on what I should try selling it for?
