Game freezing on login screen

Same problem here

In my case, when I select a character and it is loaded (for example in Highgate) it does not complete the loading. The character appears inside the city but with everything and everyone completely frozen.

Then after many seconds I lose the connection and return to the login screen. In the second attempt onwards this does not occur and then I can play.

This happened to me on both 32-bit and 64-bit clients.

Please help... i cant play

Been having the same problem here, but only over the last couple days. My computer is pretty outdated so I expected some lag, but it still ran pretty well on low settings.

Now, on the rare occasions that I can get past the login screen and play, the lag is much worse than it has ever been and I often just see blank colored spaces in my inventory where my items should be. I can mouse over them to see what they are, but no graphical display of them. If I wait long enough with my stash screen open, they usually eventually pop up, but this game has usually been pretty reliable and smooth up until just recently.

Hoping a fix will come soon because this is exactly what I wanted Diablo 3 to be like.

Just to be clear, is it 1 or 2 dashes after the space in the launch box? (-nodx9ex) or (--nodx9ex)?
