64-Bit Crashing
|
The CTD occurs when changing from windowed fullscreen to fullscreen, and happens right after clicking apply. The change is not preserved, so there's no way (outside of editing the .ini) to change modes from within the client (I expect you can change it in the 32 bit client and then relaunch).

We're looking into this crash. As you've mentioned, for now, avoid fullscreen mode.

@GGG: please know in the Settings, for the Adapter, those who crashes DONT see their adapter (the box is EMPTY). Seems like a very obvious bug right there! (maybe that's why it would only work in windowed mode...)

" I can confirm that I was also missing the Adapter information. Forgot to mention it, thanks! *You call into the void. You hear a sound in the distance.*

Yup.
Can start in windowed fullscreen mode, but then my video card doesn't show up in the selection box. Then there is visual artifacting on all the text and a lot of the effects. Might not even be using the video card. It sucks because the normal executable runs like shit now. 15 second black screen delays when alt-tabbing or when exiting the game. Weird pauses and stuttering. Last time I exited, it literally went black and never came back. Had to hard reboot my computer. Last edited by RickyDMMont2ya#0832 on Nov 17, 2016, 9:39:37 PM

" LOL! Sorry, I had to laugh that one... ;)

Same thing here, 64bit client crashes on full screen and shows no video card in the adapter section.

* I crashed trying to alt-tab from windowed to fullscreen when I had my system set with only 4GB of free memory (vs. up to 32GB). It did not crash a second time after I made more memory available.
* When opening in windowed mode, my POE client window is now appearing in the background behind existing windows. - - - - - Eyefinity problems noted: I guess I will also post this here, since you are aware of fullscreen having issues and look to be juggling many similar threads: *The behaviour of alt-tabbing between fullscreen and windowed mode has changed. I don't know if this was intentional. In prior releases of POE, you could play in fullscreen mode and alt-tab to a smaller window resolution. That is, you could manually set your window to a specific size and then alt-tab to expand the client to fullscreen over your entire Eyefinity /multi-monitor setup. You could continue to alt-tab between fullscreen and the smaller window view, which facilitated accessing browser-based content while playing (wiki, trade, whatever). With the current 2.4.2 x64 directx11 client, this no longer works. When you change your windowed size manually on the desktop, it appears to reset your desired resolution settings in the POE graphic options. As a result, when you switch back to fullscreen it tries to open a window of the same lower resolution across your Eyefinity setup. E.g., I use an AMD R9 280x with 3 screens in Eyefinity (portrait orientation, resolution 3892x1920). If I manually set the client to fit in a window across the top of the first monitor, this changes the Graphics Options settings to a custom resolution of 1216x912 to match my new window size. Now, if I attempt to open the game in fullscreen, it tries to display the game in this lower resolution (1216x912) across my entire Eyefinity setup [in my case, this throws the monitors into a mirrored mode with a low stretched resolution displayed three times across all three screens]. The mouse cursor may or may not be properly constrained to the displayed client while in this stretched fullscreen. * If I try to alt-tab to fullscreen on the 32 bit dx9 client, I briefly see something similar happening (3 lowres cursors appear), but then end up with a black screen with no cursor. ________________ Windows 7 x64 i7-3820 32GB memory Asus R9 280x Using the standalone client downloaded after you made it available the second time.

This has just happened to me also, quit the game both screens black, twitch still running in the background. Hard reboot required, running the 64 bit client |
