Harbinger crafting increased physical damage
Hello dear Exiles!
I just bought a harbinger bow lvl 84 for 2 ex (I think I made a great deal) but I'd like to upgrade the damage of it (currently 151-362 physical damage). I saw on internet that the max roll is +179% increased physical damage for a 80+ item level but I also saw harbingers with 200/250+ % increased physical damage. What is right/what is wrong? I'm planning to use some divines on it but I'm afraid the % physical damage is already nearly max so it would be useless (except for the crit chance that sucks). Do u think I can get a better bow using divine on it? I'm very new to the ranger class so don't hesitate to tell me any advice that may improve my char btw (and yes I go armor on it). Thx for helping a exile lost in the cloud of crafting^^ PS: I haven't checked the whole internet (quite a bit nevertheless) so please excuse if it's already been discussed somewhere Last bumped on Nov 16, 2016, 11:02:52 AM

Here's_your_reply
In short: Don't! That'd open pandora's box and cost you even the same as bow. To make it back to where you are. Burn all the orbs!

" So it's not possible to reach 200+ increased phys dmg in your opinion? |

" It's possible, just not with the mods on your bow. To get above the 179% you also need the mixed %phys_dmg + accuracy roll. For reference: http://poeaffix.net/2h-bow.html#id So the theoretical maximum would be Merciless (+179%) + Dictators (+79%) for a total of 258% increased physical damage (and + 135-169 to accuracy). Your bow has the Merciless roll, Tora-crafted flat phys and Buzzing (lightning dmg) as prefixes, so there is no more space. Still pretty decent, don't worry too much for upgrades until you are willing to spend much more for GG-gear. |

EDIT: Kawaiser were first, I second what he said, too.
1. Not with this bow, or lets put it different. You wouldnt want it on this bow. To get 200% you must get rid of master flat phys, which you don't want for sure. You need both %incr pdmg and flat pdmg to have win on your bow. If you had t2 flat phys here it'd be hell of cannon tho (for example). Tl:dr "Not everything shiny it's gold" And you wouldn't get 200+ with div here. I pressume you got wrong impression that there are two mods (%inc pdm and %inc/acc hybrid). There aren't. If there were 2 mods, you wouldn't be able to craft flat (mind that flat fire, that's prefix too) You are right to some point, tho, if that 177% were build up with 2 mods you might get it much better with divines. In this case you have very high rolls, divinie would most likely make them worse. At last, if you really feel lucky you could scour that bench mod and yoloex and keep fingers crossed for decent flat. Odds are rly agaiunst you here, tho. Most likely it'll roll 2-4 added fire, mana leech 5% WED or such crap, breaking your bow forever. Burn all the orbs! " Thanks a lot for ur answer! How do I see I have the mixed %phys_dmg + accuracy roll ? Both mods have to be one under the other one? (asking cause I have accuracy roll on that bow but I suppose it's a suffix and it has to be prefix right?) |

" Thanks for detailed answer. I'll keep up with that bow for now. Maybe play reach for council that may be stronger (and only 10ex price) |

" There is not always a way to find out. For your bow however there are already two other prefixes (flat phys and lightning dmg) and the mixed %phys+accuracy mod wouldn't roll as high as 177% increased phys, so only the pure %phys mod makes sense. This then means the accuracy comes from a pure +acc mod, the crit and crit multi are obvious (because no mixed mods exist). You just have to eliminate possibilities to find the fitting comnination of mods for the piece of equipment you have. Even then it's not always clear (imagine a combination of mid tier-rolls for %phys, mixed %phys+accuracy and pure accuracy, there would be no way to tell which mod rolled in which range). |

" In some cases "Item may not have another suffix mod" reply from bench clarify thngs. But yeah "in some" I was pretty sure I figured it out 100% once. All you need is to try to craft flat acc, right? There has to be such mod in tool for marksmen, hunters, archers and whatnot, right? Mope, there isn't...you can craft accuracy on grandma's ammy, but you cannot on sniper gear. Poe in a nutshell %) Burn all the orbs!
